What turns a promising networking connection into a meaningful partnership that supports lasting business growth?
Susan Jarema and co-host Steve Brossman bring together three collaboration experts, Derek Morgan, David Riklan, and Danny Bermant, for a special Grand Connection Networking Mixer focused on making relationships more valuable through intentional follow-up, generosity, and practical action.
Derek explores the opportunities often overlooked within existing networks and the importance of asking better referral questions. David shares how identifying mutual value and building a consistent partnership system can open doors to joint ventures, referrals, and greater visibility. Danny highlights the difference between transactional networking and becoming a trusted, reliable collaboration partner others genuinely want to support.
Throughout the conversation, Susan and Steve reinforce the importance of moving beyond collecting contacts to building relationships grounded in reciprocity and trust. Susan Jarema:collaborative growth. Let's join Steve as he introduces our first
Susan Jarema:speaker, Derek Morgan.
Steve Brossman:My pleasure now is to introduce another Aussie,
Steve Brossman:another crazy guy getting up at 5o'clock in the morning. But
Steve Brossman:Derek is the founder. He's been, I think, he's had referrals
Steve Brossman:running through his blood for years, as long as I've known
Steve Brossman:him. Referral marketing ideas and the creator of a referral
Steve Brossman:marketing formula. Co-founder C R of Refer to You, a phenomenal
Steve Brossman:app that makes it easy for you to contact and stay in contact
Steve Brossman:with the people that you do meet. 30 plus years in direct
Steve Brossman:sales partner management experience, and he helps
Steve Brossman:business owners and sales teams generate referral leads via
Steve Brossman:partner led growth strategies. His quick talk today is referral
Steve Brossman:partnerships and lead gen strategies, no cold outreach and
Steve Brossman:no ad spend. I know we're all about that cold outreach and ad
Steve Brossman:spend is a bane of most of ours, and that's why
Derek Morgan:most of you here. Hey, buddy, I'm just going to
Derek Morgan:say a big Aussie g'day, mate. The stage is yours. Thank, thank
Derek Morgan:you. I shall start sharing and jump into it. A bit of speed
Derek Morgan:dating or speed presenting, however you want to to call it.
Derek Morgan:So let me quickly jump in here. So yeah, thanks, Steve, and
Derek Morgan:thanks Susan for having me on here. I'll make this really
Derek Morgan:quick. I want to make sure that you get a lot of value out of
Derek Morgan:this in the next five minutes. So I want to give you a couple
Derek Morgan:of questions that you can ask that will lead to introductions
Derek Morgan:and referrals. And if you apply these questions consistently as
Derek Morgan:part of your sales, customer success prospecting, you're
Derek Morgan:going to generate a lot more leads. But more importantly,
Derek Morgan:leads with the right people. So, a couple of years ago, I went to
Derek Morgan:work for a business and looked in their CRM. Found a contact in
Derek Morgan:there that I'd actually introduced to that company two
Derek Morgan:years prior, and nobody had followed them up. So, I
Derek Morgan:contacted this guy, went and had a couple of coffee meetings with
Derek Morgan:him and wrote $11.2 million worth of new business in the
Derek Morgan:next six months. So, my question to you is, what what golden
Derek Morgan:opportunities are sitting in your existing network that need
Derek Morgan:to be followed up rather than chasing cold new leads all the
Derek Morgan:time? I mean, you're in the right room for. With the right
Derek Morgan:people, the question is: Once you make those connections, what
Derek Morgan:are you doing next? I'll drop a link in to this calculator a
Derek Morgan:little bit later, but you can go in there and start to estimate
Derek Morgan:the value of potential new business sitting in your current
Derek Morgan:network. Most people overlook this because they're always
Derek Morgan:chasing cold leads. So, I'm not sure what you're seeing in the
Derek Morgan:marketplace at the moment, but what we're experiencing and the
Derek Morgan:feedback we're getting is that the old marketing tactics that
Derek Morgan:we're working are becoming more challenging and harder to
Derek Morgan:convert. So, content saturation, cold outreach overwhelm, you
Derek Morgan:know, a lot of lack of trust with all the the spamming and
Derek Morgan:phishing that's going on at the moment. So I'm keen if you could
Derek Morgan:just pop in the chat one, two, or both if you're experiencing
Derek Morgan:any of these in your marketing and sales process at the moment,
Derek Morgan:because that's the thing that we can circumvent, or we're trying
Derek Morgan:to overcome here. So your existing customers, a lot of
Derek Morgan:people don't spend enough time with their existing customers,
Derek Morgan:focusing and going deep with them. Your existing customers
Derek Morgan:can lead you to your best referral partners. Your best
Derek Morgan:customers are surrounded by high-quality vendors, suppliers,
Derek Morgan:advisors. The question is, how do you get connected into that
Derek Morgan:network in a really smooth way? So the answer is simpler than
Derek Morgan:you might think, and don't let that fool you. If you start to
Derek Morgan:ask these, weave these two simple questions into all of
Derek Morgan:your contacts or all of your communication, not just with
Derek Morgan:your existing clients, but also with your prospects and
Derek Morgan:prospects that you're nurturing as well, that you're following
Derek Morgan:up with, and if you just ask them who's an ideal customer for
Derek Morgan:them, and do they work with referral partners, and who's an
Derek Morgan:ideal referral partner for them, and do that with a genuine
Derek Morgan:intent to connect good people up with other people in your
Derek Morgan:network, the thing that's going to happen next is they're going
Derek Morgan:to ask you. This this law of reciprocity actually works.
Derek Morgan:They're going to ask you who can they connect you with, and how
Derek Morgan:can they help you. This is the point that you want to be really
Derek Morgan:clear about the referral partners that you work really
Derek Morgan:well with, that you can add a lot of value with too, and why,
Derek Morgan:and then give them a very simple and clear message around that
Derek Morgan:value proposition and who you want to connect with, and
Derek Morgan:typically they will have somebody exactly like that
Derek Morgan:sitting in their network. That's how you get referrals, even on
Derek Morgan:prospect calls. The thing is, it's don't overthink it. It
Derek Morgan:seems too simple, but a lot of people don't do the simple
Derek Morgan:things consistently, and therefore they're missing out on
Derek Morgan:a whole lot of value and revenue and new introductions and
Derek Morgan:conversion because you're not doing the simple disciplines,
Derek Morgan:right? It's then what happens next?
Derek Morgan:So, six questions that you need to ask to make sure you maximize
Derek Morgan:the value out of the referrals you are asking for and receiving
Derek Morgan:is who is an ideal referral partner for you? Be really clear
Derek Morgan:about it. What is the value proposition that you deliver to
Derek Morgan:that referral partner, and more importantly, why is that
Derek Morgan:important to them? Because that gets starting to get woven into
Derek Morgan:your marketing message. And then, how do you track and
Derek Morgan:engage and follow up with referrals? So that $11.2 million
Derek Morgan:that I spoke about, that referral sat in a CRM for two
Derek Morgan:years. That was probably an opportunity cost of around $44
Derek Morgan:million to that business because nobody followed up originally.
Derek Morgan:So, if you're going to go out and do a lot of networking, are
Derek Morgan:you doing a lot of follow-up and follow-through with the right
Derek Morgan:people so that you actually get value out of that connection
Derek Morgan:rather than just making connections and filling your
Derek Morgan:CRM, so I'm not sure I've lost track of time. So hopefully I've
Derek Morgan:I've kept to my five minutes. But what we'd like to do is the
Derek Morgan:refer to you platform takes the Grand Connection app and helps
Derek Morgan:with the next step. So it works really in a complementary way
Derek Morgan:with the Grand Connections app. So I'll drop the link to the
Derek Morgan:Grand Connections refer to you link in the chat a little bit
Derek Morgan:later, and that will connect you up with Susan and her team on
Derek Morgan:refer to you. And if you're a Grand Connect. Member, we've got
Derek Morgan:a couple of offers there on the screen that you can see, and
Derek Morgan:Susan will follow up a little bit more on that and how you
Derek Morgan:access those and get those. So, how did I go? How was my timing?
Susan Jarema:Pretty good, and I put those gifts in the chat
Susan Jarema:right now just to repeat what they are, there's there's a
Susan Jarema:really great free version you can start playing with right now
Susan Jarema:on Refer YouToo. It's a great step from when you're using and
Susan Jarema:meeting making new introductions through the Grand Connection
Susan Jarema:referral app. It's a it's it's part of the My Most Trusted
Susan Jarema:network of over I think it's 89,000 now. So you have access
Susan Jarema:to all of that, and then you can really follow up and do the
Susan Jarema:engagement using refer you to refer to you. And what Derek has
Susan Jarema:also provided for our community. I'm just going to stop your
Susan Jarema:screen share now because it's in the chat, so we can see
Susan Jarema:everybody's faces. Derek has provided a training that's for
Susan Jarema:Grand Connection members. So if you're a member, you can go into
Susan Jarema:the hub right now and access the training underneath member
Susan Jarema:benefits and member gifts, so you can see them there. So thank
Susan Jarema:you. That's a very. Do you want to say a little bit about that
Susan Jarema:training that's in there? It's worth $97. You normally sell it
Susan Jarema:for that. I said, please give us something special for my
Susan Jarema:community.
Derek Morgan:Yeah, there's nine modules that take you through a
Derek Morgan:very strategic and structured process for building a referral
Derek Morgan:partner program. So it focuses on ideal customers, ideal
Derek Morgan:referral partners, creating a value proposition for partners
Derek Morgan:that actually gets partners excited and engaged. When you
Derek Morgan:can do that, it's going to help you with your lead generation,
Derek Morgan:your acceleration of engagement, sales conversion, expansion of
Derek Morgan:products and services, and it will also help you with your
Derek Morgan:customer retention, and also with re-engaging past customers.
Derek Morgan:So the nine modules take you step by step, and then the refer
Derek Morgan:to you platform. It's a really powerful free version. We give
Derek Morgan:away what most people charge for, so it helps you actually
Derek Morgan:implement and track and manage your partner program.
Susan Jarema:No, that's very. It's that next step of moving
Susan Jarema:into thinking things through of having a partner program, like
Susan Jarema:you know, you there, your partners are your salespeople.
Susan Jarema:You know they're out there, and how do you how do you support
Susan Jarema:them in the right way? And it's something to think through. And
Susan Jarema:I know that that course will be very valuable for for our
Susan Jarema:members. All right, Steve. Where I saw a hand up, and it
Susan Jarema:disappeared. Is there anybody any
Steve Brossman:questions or insights from that? I got a
Steve Brossman:couple of great comments about what Derek says and does. Yeah,
Steve Brossman:one of the best things is the people that are already there?
Steve Brossman:I've been basically since 1983 when I set up my health club. R
Steve Brossman:and R was my marketing referrals and retention, and and it's
Steve Brossman:working with the people that are already on your list. And one of
Steve Brossman:our clients basically said, "Steve, I hate asking for
Steve Brossman:referrals. And so many people say, "Can you give me a
Steve Brossman:referral? Can you give me a referral? Since day.we, always
Steve Brossman:re-scripted it, and I gave these guys the new script that we use.
Steve Brossman:And it's not about asking; it's about giving, and it's a it's
Steve Brossman:one that stimulates the hormones because I'm writing to the
Steve Brossman:neuroscience. And within 10 days, they generated 157,000 in
Steve Brossman:referrals from existing clients by not asking for referrals.
Steve Brossman:Yeah. Later on, I'm going to drop. I've already put it all
Steve Brossman:together as a gift for the guys here in Grand Connections, so
Steve Brossman:you guys can go and get the whole script and everything that
Steve Brossman:we use for hormone-induced referrals. How to get more
Steve Brossman:referrals without even asking for them, so that'll go hand in
Steve Brossman:hand with the three Ds that we've got today. How many of you
Steve Brossman:have set an appointment with yourself for the next hour after
Steve Brossman:the Grand Connection or any networking event? I went to one
Steve Brossman:yesterday. I was speaking at, and the first thing that I do if
Steve Brossman:I'm going to go to a networking event or speaking at an event, I
Steve Brossman:will make an appointment with myself for the next hour. Do you
Steve Brossman:know what I'm doing? Sorting out all the stuff that happened in
Steve Brossman:that event. If you haven't made an appointment with yourself for
Steve Brossman:the next hour, it's going to be on tomorrow. It'll be on the
Steve Brossman:next day. It'll be on the day after that, and before you know
Steve Brossman:it, this was just an enjoyable couple of hours that you spent
Steve Brossman:with some nice people, and you've walked away with bugger
Steve Brossman:all. That's an Aussie saying. I thought I'd say that for Derek.
Steve Brossman:So, if you are going to turn up to these events, and Lee, first
Steve Brossman:time a great, the first thing that you should do is yes, save
Steve Brossman:the chat. If you don't have Chat Bridge, go and get it. Dump it
Steve Brossman:in that, and it does the work for you. But if you're going to
Steve Brossman:make sure you set aside the time to get the real value that
Steve Brossman:you're getting from these events, does that make sense?
Steve Brossman:Yeah. Yeah. So whenever you book yourself out for this or
Steve Brossman:whatever other events or groups that you've come from, book out.
Steve Brossman:The next hour, while it's fresh. Here's another networking tip
Steve Brossman:that we teach: take a screenshot of everybody that's here, put it
Steve Brossman:into a couple of PowerPoint slides, and at the end of it,
Steve Brossman:you'll say, "Oh, that person! What was their name? When you
Steve Brossman:look at their face, "Oh, that was the person that said
Steve Brossman:something real, really cool in our group. So, screenshot the
Steve Brossman:names, screenshot the people that are in your groups, put
Steve Brossman:them in there, and then you've got the list of all the people,
Steve Brossman:and you've got the the chat. When you match those two up, the
Steve Brossman:value of what you're going to get out of today and any other
Steve Brossman:networking event that you go to will be absolutely magnified. I
Steve Brossman:think we should go into a breakout room now.
Susan Jarema:Yes, we should. Okay, yeah. So I've got the
Susan Jarema:rooms already ready. So I'm going to open them up. What is
Susan Jarema:going to be the discussion question, Derek or Steve? What
Susan Jarema:should we talk about?
Steve Brossman:I think we'll go. What transformation can you
Steve Brossman:provide other people's people? What what value can you add to
Steve Brossman:your referral partners? Might be solving a
Susan Jarema:problem for their client. It might be the paying a
Susan Jarema:great commission. There's much. There's a lot of things that
Susan Jarema:could be part of that list, and I'd love for everybody to share
Susan Jarema:that afterwards. Okay, the rooms are open. Welcome back,
Susan Jarema:everybody. I'm re-putting in the chat the check-in because I see
Susan Jarema:that not everybody is checked in. All you have to do is scan
Susan Jarema:that QR code or grab the link in the chat. It checks you into the
Susan Jarema:event. You have this wonderful opportunity to create a really
Susan Jarema:great profile that stays till the next time you check into any
Susan Jarema:events that are using the same referral app, and then you will
Susan Jarema:get all of the connections afterwards of everybody who
Susan Jarema:checked in. It's quite nice, and you know you can share in there.
Susan Jarema:Who do you want to meet? Who are you looking for as a
Susan Jarema:collaboration partner, and that allows everybody else to scan
Susan Jarema:through and look and say, "Hey, this is a possibility to be a
Susan Jarema:collaboration partner. So you want to be on the list. So make
Susan Jarema:sure that that happens.
Steve Brossman:And so one of the things while we're waiting
Steve Brossman:for somebody to put their hand up, that's been working really
Steve Brossman:well, is as you go into a collaboration opportunity, is
Steve Brossman:when you articulate how can I make the other person the hero
Steve Brossman:in front of their people? What value can you add to somebody
Steve Brossman:else's people with what they're already doing for them that also
Steve Brossman:makes them look good? I work with speakers, coaches, course
Steve Brossman:creators, and if I help them sell their products better, then
Steve Brossman:the value they get from the person I'm working with is going
Steve Brossman:to be enhanced. So how how can you elevate the positioning and
Steve Brossman:value that people get from the people that you work with? Don't
Steve Brossman:just go in and say, "What can I get from you? What can I get
Steve Brossman:from you? It's like, nah. How can I make you look the hero in
Steve Brossman:front of your people? And that is why you get asked back over
Steve Brossman:and over again, and that's why you get sent on to other people.
Steve Brossman:You got to work with so and so because they had such great
Steve Brossman:value, and when you start doing that, your book will be full.
Steve Brossman:That's what the intention of the Grand Connection, when it was
Steve Brossman:given birth many years ago, that is a platform for bringing
Steve Brossman:people together and then giving them the tools and the support
Steve Brossman:to be able to further that journey. So, a hats off to Susan
Steve Brossman:in bringing that together.
Susan Jarema:So, Steve, I think it's time to get on with the
Susan Jarema:show because we are going to learn about some secrets,
Steve Brossman:mate. Here's somebody that I've known for
Steve Brossman:quite some time, and I think he lives, breathes joint ventures,
Steve Brossman:networking, Referrals, a good friend and a very very smart
Steve Brossman:person, David Rickland, the founder of SelfGrowth.com and
Steve Brossman:co-founder of the Joint Venture Directory. If you haven't been
Steve Brossman:there, get off your butt and get there. It's it's a wealth of
Steve Brossman:different events and it really works hand in hand with the
Steve Brossman:grand connection of whatever you're doing, he's an author
Steve Brossman:speaker on self improvement. He's published over 10 books,
Steve Brossman:including titles with John Wiley and Son. He's attracted over 100
Steve Brossman:million visitors to his websites. The joint directory
Steve Brossman:has had a hell of a makeover, and it is a great platform to go
Steve Brossman:and find the right people and to do joint ventures with. Today,
Steve Brossman:he's going to give you the secrets of using partnerships
Steve Brossman:and cross promotions to grow your business. I'm not going to
Steve Brossman:go on any more. Dave, platform's yours.
David Riklan:All right, sounds good. Great to be here. I got a
David Riklan:couple slides to share as well, and I'm going to piggyback on
David Riklan:some of the stuff we've been hearing already from Derek, from
David Riklan:Steve, from Susan. So we're going to jump in over here. When
David Riklan:I talk about partnerships, I like to use the word joint
David Riklan:ventures a lot, which is kind of a mini partnership where any two
David Riklan:people or two companies are working together. But one of the
David Riklan:things I like to focus in on partnerships is understanding
David Riklan:the value, and I think a lot of people are getting it. But I
David Riklan:want to reinforce it right now. And one of the main ways to
David Riklan:really value joint ventures is to partner with someone who can
David Riklan:help get you in front of a larger audience. And this is
really key:people who can help give you referrals, promote you
really key:by email. And I want to make this as interactive, so I'm
really key:going to ask everybody to jump in over here. I put a list of
really key:different ways that would be of value to you. So I'm going to
really key:ask everybody to go in the chat, take a look at these, and put
really key:whatever numbers coincide with something that would help you
really key:with your business. So put a number one if you want someone
really key:to send out an email recommending you. Four if you
really key:want regular referrals, and I just want to see and and kind of
really key:open everybody's eyes. You might want someone to promote you on
really key:their website, put you on a summit, put you on their
really key:podcast, and just go in and put whatever numbers. If it's all of
really key:them, put one through seven. I just want to get a quick check
really key:in over here of what folks are are doing so. Let's kind of see
really key:what numbers I see. Thanks for joining. A lot of one through
really key:sevens, eight, all the above. All right, lots of numbers
really key:coming in. All right, so everybody's getting the hang of
really key:it. A lot of value. I want to share just a couple of other
really key:ideas to get out there for you. You might want to jointly create
really key:products with people, promote someone's people to promote your
really key:affiliate program, speaking opportunities. Sometimes people
really key:to brainstorm or mastermind. Literally, there's an infinite
really key:number of ways to find partners. And I want to just step through.
really key:I only have five minutes, so I'm going to give you a couple of
really key:quick things. I'm going to reinforce. A first step with all
really key:this is in terms of developing a system is developing a master
really key:list of partners. I don't care if you use a Google Sheet, an
really key:Excel spreadsheet. It looks like refertoyou.com is a great tool.
really key:I'm going to have to check that out and talk to Derek. Create
really key:some sort of system or master list. At a minimum, who your
really key:contact is, your notes about them, and how to contact them,
really key:and then add people to the list. There's a lot of people here
really key:that I'm adding to my list. I just added Derek to my list.
really key:There's a lot of people here to build this list, and then the
really key:the next thing I want to piggyback on what we talked
really key:about earlier, understanding the value you bring to them, and
really key:this is going to reinforce what Derek said. You can have
really key:everything in life you want if you will help other people get
really key:what they want. And the main things that will attract people
really key:is if you help people sell their product and build their tribe,
really key:they'll want to help you. If you help people generate income,
really key:they'll want to help you. So I want to put out a few ideas, and
really key:I want you to really gain an understanding of what value you
really key:bring to the table. So I'm going to ask everybody to go through
really key:these, and I'll step through them and put in the chat
really key:something that comes to mind of value you can bring. So that was
really key:part of the earlier exercise. So, for example, can you send
really key:out an email promoting people? Put that in the chat. Can you
really key:promote people on social media? Can you provide people an
really key:opportunity to speak? Susan's providing us an opportunity to
really key:speak here. Can you interview people? And I want you to really
really key:think through what you can do. Can you promote them on your
really key:website?
really key:And I'll put a few other ideas because everybody has something
really key:they can do to support people. You can become an affiliate and
really key:help them sell their products. We all have good content. You
really key:can provide good content for folks, connections, participate
really key:in people's community. So I really want to get out there
really key:that the key to all this is figuring out the value. And this
really key:is a brainstorming session. Understand what value you bring
really key:to the table, and then leveraging that with the law of
really key:reciprocity, supporting other folks. And the the last thing I
really key:know, I only only have a few other sec a few other seconds
really key:left. Understand what you bring to the table and write a clear
really key:proposal for folks. And I want to put out a quick opportunity
really key:for folks. I know there's a ton of folks that are part of the
really key:Grant Connection. Grant Connection's an amazing
really key:community to meet and connect with folks. We run something
really key:called the JV or Joint Venture Directory, which is a community
really key:of some 2,000 coaches, authors, speakers, and healers, with a
really key:database of 600 podcasts looking for guests. We run meetings and
really key:working with Susan. What we've done is we're going to be giving
really key:everybody here an opportunity to get lifetime free membership
really key:into the joint venture directory, and everybody gets
really key:two weeks bronze level membership. So if you are not a
really key:member right now, I'm going to put in a link. I'll put this in
really key:right now, and all you need to do is click on this. And if you
really key:want to take a note, it says Grand at the bottom of it
really key:because it's part of our partnership. So you can see it's
really key:part of the Grand Connection partnership. Thank you, Steve.
really key:Back to you. I think I'm about a little over five minutes, and
really key:looking forward to supporting and working with everybody here.
Steve Brossman:Awesome, David. I can only vouch for myself. The
Steve Brossman:it's on my calendar every month to join the roundtables, which
Steve Brossman:is a high-level group that you've got in there. Speakers,
Steve Brossman:authors, co. You've got a networking event specifically
Steve Brossman:for them, healers, etc. You've got another networking event for
Steve Brossman:them, and the joint venture directory to get in and look for
Steve Brossman:people and do connections is a phenomenal platform to get
Steve Brossman:around there. You're probably getting by now. Those who are
Steve Brossman:successful actually take networking and joint ventures as
Steve Brossman:a serious part of their marketing. You invest the time,
Steve Brossman:you invest some money. Those of you who are members of the joint
Steve Brossman:venture directory, great. Those of you are members of the Grand
Steve Brossman:Connection, fantastic. The only two that I basically pay for
Steve Brossman:that that gets value back. And the one thing, two things, I'm
Steve Brossman:going to piggyback on what David has said and what Derek has
Steve Brossman:said. Also, in the AI world that we live in now, transferred
Steve Brossman:trust. Write this down. Transferred trust is the growing
Steve Brossman:value. When somebody who has trust of somebody introduces you
Steve Brossman:to them, their trust is transferred to you. AI cannot do
Steve Brossman:that, and when you do that correctly, your business will
Steve Brossman:grow. And I put in the chat there when you go to a a
Steve Brossman:networking event. A lot of people go in. Who can? Where can
Steve Brossman:I find a client? Where can I find a client? We live by the
Steve Brossman:4p's: purchase, pass on, promote, and partner, somebody
Steve Brossman:may buy from you. Pass on, refer. Didn't start with a P, so
Steve Brossman:I couldn't use it. Partner and promote. Have that in your mind.
Steve Brossman:Every conversation, the four Ps. What can I do? What can I do to
Steve Brossman:add value? David, your info was absolutely brilliant, and for
Steve Brossman:the offer, awesome as well.
Susan Jarema:When you get that clarity around who you want to
Susan Jarema:meet, and you got that offer that is really clear and
Susan Jarema:concise, and provides value and transformation, it is so easy to
Susan Jarema:be referable. And that's what we're going to learn from our
Susan Jarema:next speaker is about how to be referral referral ready. So I'm
Susan Jarema:excited about Danny coming up later. We have a breakout first.
Susan Jarema:What would be a great discussion topic to do after our 32nd
Susan Jarema:intros?
David Riklan:I'm going to ask folks to delve a little bit
David Riklan:deeper. So we started talking about how you can support folks.
David Riklan:So I want you to kind of delve deeper based on what I shared
David Riklan:today, and let people know: Can you write a review for them? Can
David Riklan:you support them on social media? Can you interview them on
David Riklan:a podcast and start with that? What specific, based on what I
David Riklan:just shared, that you can do to support folks?
Susan Jarema:Welcome back, everybody. There's a couple of
Susan Jarema:Grand Connection members that have something great to share.
Susan Jarema:Let me see if they're there. Andrew Darlow, if you come back,
Susan Jarema:you want to share a little bit about your owl group tomorrow?
Andrew Darlow:Yes, I'm so excited. Every third Friday of
Andrew Darlow:the month at 11 a.m. Eastern, I have the honor of hosting
Andrew Darlow:something called the Grand Owl Meeting, and it's an hour-long
Andrew Darlow:networking group. We talk about the Owl app, and I'm curious how
Andrew Darlow:many people there either know about the Owl app or have
Andrew Darlow:downloaded it. It's available right now for people in the U.S.
Andrew Darlow:and Canada, and I hope that you can stop by tomorrow. And if I
Andrew Darlow:were to say the main reason, the killer app, if you will, for
Andrew Darlow:using the Owl app, imagine just like we do here. If you love the
Andrew Darlow:breakout rooms, imagine 24/7 breakout rooms where you could
Andrew Darlow:chat with people voice only, which is good if you don't
Andrew Darlow:really want to, you know, get made up. But imagine that 24/7.
Andrew Darlow:That's the beauty of Al. You can have 10 minute chats with anyone
Andrew Darlow:and make really amazing connections. One person has
Andrew Darlow:earned over $70,000, not through the app, which does have an
Andrew Darlow:income part, but through the people she met, and then they
Andrew Darlow:became her customers. So feel free to reach out to me on
Andrew Darlow:LinkedIn and stop by tomorrow, 11 a.m. Eastern. Whether or not
Andrew Darlow:you are a current Grand Connection member,
Susan Jarema:just share your coupon in the chat too, where
Susan Jarema:they can get the $10 calling credit. Okay,
Andrew Darlow:absolutely. So I'll keep it really simple. It's
Andrew Darlow:either just go to iOS Store or Google Play Store. It's Owl with
Andrew Darlow:2w's and 2l's, and then when you get to the third stage, the
Andrew Darlow:third step after you make sure you have a photograph on your
Andrew Darlow:phone of you that you like use the word top and you'll get $10
Andrew Darlow:credit for your first 10 calls thank you Susan Hey
Steve Brossman:we got the neuro nerd
Rei McColley:thanks Stephen well we're start we've started a
Rei McColley:new neuroscience mastery program so a lot of us have you ever
Rei McColley:have you ever in your life wish you had a manual for how to work
Rei McColley:your brain? You know, if you could understand what the heck
Rei McColley:did I do that for? So, I've spent the last nine years
Rei McColley:working with some pretty top scientists on neuroscience and
Rei McColley:breaking down really collegiate level information into simple
Rei McColley:practical steps. So in the program, we teach a map for how
Rei McColley:your brain works, and we teach you strategies for how to do
Rei McColley:what we call brain network switching, and it's a game
Rei McColley:changer.
Susan Jarema:We're looking for a couple of more people who
Susan Jarema:would like to be part of it. We have. Different opportunities to
Susan Jarema:experience the power of brain network switching, which can
Susan Jarema:change how you relook at the world and how you react in the
Susan Jarema:world. And it's called the neuroscience of communication
Susan Jarema:and connection. So we learn communication skills. We learn
Susan Jarema:how to connect, have how to have neural resonance with other
Susan Jarema:people that you're connecting with, and by understanding your
Susan Jarema:map of the brain and how to brain network switch, you can
Susan Jarema:learn to become a better communicator, and of course
Susan Jarema:reduce stress, overcome overwhelm, create new habits, do
Susan Jarema:all the things that mastery of your brain will help you do. And
Susan Jarema:it's a great way to work with a supportive community. I see Kim,
Susan Jarema:Kim Day, Kim, are you available to say a couple words? Because
Susan Jarema:you're part of the current program.
Kimberley Day:Yeah, sure. I'm happy to share. I've been in the
Kimberley Day:program since January, and I'm a big believer and always have
Kimberley Day:been about lifelong learning and personal development. So, who
Kimberley Day:doesn't need, like Ray said, to figure out what the heck is
Kimberley Day:going on between your two ears? And sometimes you just need to
Kimberley Day:get that from an outside perspective. And I'm also a a
Kimberley Day:science, a believer in science, and I, you know, I have a
Kimberley Day:biology degree, so it was very interesting for me to figure out
Kimberley Day:a way to, you know, solve the riddle of what's going on inside
Kimberley Day:your brain. And Ray just does that really wonderfully, and we
Kimberley Day:have a really great group in there. So if you're thinking
Kimberley Day:about hopping in, and I, it's just it's an amazing community
Kimberley Day:of people all growing and becoming better people together.
Rei McColley:It it really is, isn't it? And the amount of
Rei McColley:support and trust is right in alignment with what Grand
Rei McColley:Connections. We we also teach a really good process for
Rei McColley:overcoming procrastination. Everything I teach in the
Rei McColley:program, anyone that's a student can take and use in their own
Rei McColley:coaching or their own programs if they want. You'll have my
Rei McColley:permission to
Steve Brossman:do that. Awesome, awesome.
Unknown:Yeah.
David Riklan:We moving on, or
Steve Brossman:we got time for Mike. Mike Whitehouse, are
Susan Jarema:you here? There you are. There you are. Okay.
Susan Jarema:Um, you're going to be speaking next month at the next mixer.
Susan Jarema:You want to share a little bit about what you're going to talk
Susan Jarema:about? The theme for next month is money. Okay.
Michael Whitehouse:Yes. So I'm talking about that, not not
Michael Whitehouse:Connectors Edge, right? We can talk
Susan Jarema:and share a little bit about Connectors Edge too.
Susan Jarema:Yeah. Okay.
Michael Whitehouse:I can do that. Um. Yeah. So next week I'm
Michael Whitehouse:going to be. So I'm a certified, huh?
Susan Jarema:Oh, next month you're speaking, right?
Michael Whitehouse:What Susan said at the time frame that
Michael Whitehouse:Susan said, I am going to be speaking on financial freedom,
Michael Whitehouse:which part of that can be time freedom. So you can get to the
Michael Whitehouse:point where you don't have to know what week it is anymore.
Michael Whitehouse:I'm not there yet, but I teach about it. So I am a certified
Michael Whitehouse:trainer with Real Prosperity Inc. and what they what what I
Michael Whitehouse:teach is the financial freedom formula, which is a way so that
Michael Whitehouse:you never have to depend on a a job, the government, a spouse,
Michael Whitehouse:or even your business to live, and you can be free. Which
Michael Whitehouse:usually doesn't mean retired. It usually just means you do what
Michael Whitehouse:you want because most of us, if we didn't need the money, we'd
Michael Whitehouse:still work. We might work differently, but we'd still work
Michael Whitehouse:because we do it for fun. So that's going to that's what I'm
Michael Whitehouse:going to do speaking on. That's what I'm going to do speaking on
Michael Whitehouse:next month. And the other thing that I can share is that I run
Michael Whitehouse:something called the Connectors Edge, which is like a networking
Michael Whitehouse:platform, like a dating site for networking. It's a place where
Michael Whitehouse:you can match with people, and many of you have probably had
Michael Whitehouse:the experience of saying, "There's so many people in the
Michael Whitehouse:Grand Connection. I see all these little faces on the
Michael Whitehouse:screen, but I only met a few of them in breakouts. I wish I
Michael Whitehouse:could meet more of them. So I have created an organization
Michael Whitehouse:feature which is hot off the presses, somewhat untested, but
Michael Whitehouse:probably won't kill you. And if you use the special link that I
Michael Whitehouse:just put in the chat, then when you join, you are tagged as a
Michael Whitehouse:Grand Connection member, which would allow you to then search
Michael Whitehouse:for other Grand Connection members, and you'll have the
Michael Whitehouse:Grand Connection medal. So right there on your profile will be
Michael Whitehouse:the Grand Connection logo. Susan, I'm hoping it's okay, I
Michael Whitehouse:use that. So they'll have the Grand Connection logo right
Michael Whitehouse:there, and it will give you the chance to fill out the
Michael Whitehouse:questions, and then be matched with other people who fill out
Michael Whitehouse:the questions and find your best matches on the Grand Connection.
Michael Whitehouse:So,
Susan Jarema:and you just finished this today, didn't you?
Michael Whitehouse:I did. Yes. The only feature I don't have
Michael Whitehouse:yet is tagging it to the person who referred you. So Susan, I
Michael Whitehouse:have to retroactively tag them to you. But don't worry, you'll
Michael Whitehouse:get credit. That's okay.
Susan Jarema:Well, I just have to share too that I had an
Susan Jarema:interview with Michael Whitehouse on my Grand
Susan Jarema:Connection podcast. Yes, was it yesterday? Time goes by really
Susan Jarema:fast, and I don't
Michael Whitehouse:know what day it is. Yeah, it's probably
Michael Whitehouse:yesterday. It sounds right. Calendars is yesterday. I
Susan Jarema:am overwhelmed with what you're doing with AI,
Susan Jarema:and I also asked you to speak at the Grand AI Group in December.
Susan Jarema:So this is going to be exciting to learn some of the things that
Susan Jarema:you're doing to help people connect and how to use AI.
Susan Jarema:Michael's taking it to a new level, building his own products
Susan Jarema:using AI. He's got Piper, who's his AI assistant. That does
Susan Jarema:everything for him. I want a piper. You need a piper. You
Susan Jarema:need to meet Michael and take advantage of this offer to join
Susan Jarema:in his his little app. Right, his little app. It's big. It's
Susan Jarema:big now. You just keep adding and adding to it, and it's free
Susan Jarema:right now. So have fun with it. Play with it. Make some new
Susan Jarema:connections. Where's our XTiles guys? You can meet some of our
Susan Jarema:great partners here at the Grand Connection. Sirhi, are you here?
Susan Jarema:Say hello.
Serhii:Yeah, absolutely. Hey,
Susan Jarema:zooming in from the Ukraine, can you share a
Susan Jarema:little bit about what X Tiles does very briefly? And I'm going
Susan Jarema:to put the link in the chat because, and let them know where
Susan Jarema:they can come for trainings.
Serhii:Yep, absolutely, and thanks for such opportunity. I
Serhii:will share one of our maybe templates or how our Excel looks
Serhii:like. But basically, what do we do? We help people to be
Serhii:slightly more organized and to connect all of the tiny pieces
Serhii:of information from different places into one visual place. So
Serhii:instead of you juggling between different apps, apps just
Serhii:spending your time every morning or every evening, I don't know.
Serhii:You can be more focused to get a lot of things automatically and
Serhii:to see what you need to do next. So we do the live events every
Serhii:Wednesday, like a couple of hours earlier than we do our
Serhii:session right now, and we usually help people to onboard.
Serhii:So regardless, and I have, I believe we can have such an
Serhii:offer for all of the Grant Connection members. So all of
Serhii:the new users, regardless their payment tier, we can give you a
Serhii:kind of a onboarding session, and to help you to understand
Serhii:how it works and to create very first AI agents to collect all
Serhii:of the information from all of the places, and to make it
Serhii:really visual. So yeah, that's what we do. As Susan so
Serhii:generous, shared all of the links inside our chat box right
Serhii:now, so we can go through to see how it looks like. And we, by
Serhii:the way, have a lot of people with ATHD, and a lot of people
Serhii:who loves paper planners. So if you move, if if you want to move
Serhii:like finally from your ton of paper planners to some digital
Serhii:solution, now it's all right time. So yeah, just
Susan Jarema:how many users do you have?
Serhii:A million users, and most of them are from the states
Serhii:and Canada, so we believe we are blessed. But it was like a total
Serhii:focus from the very first day, and we operate on the market
Serhii:since 2022. So yeah, still a startup. Thanks so thank
Susan Jarema:you very much.
Steve Brossman:Yeah, this is another person that I've
Steve Brossman:actually personally worked with, and even though he actually goes
Steve Brossman:by the title of Captain JV, the depth and the knowledge and the
Steve Brossman:science that he goes into working with people, I'm
Steve Brossman:actually going to call him Professor Professor JV because
Steve Brossman:the the work that he does is absolutely phenomenal. Over the
Steve Brossman:past five years, listen to this. He has worked with more than 500
Steve Brossman:joint venture partners, supported them in their
Steve Brossman:launches, webinars, joint ventures, all sorts of different
Steve Brossman:ways that he helps people with joint ventures, and has helped
Steve Brossman:them generate over 5 million in revenue. Prolific networker.
Steve Brossman:He's got contacts right across the globe. I'm not going to go
Steve Brossman:on too much more, but he's going to share with you. This is
crucial:how you can become the joint venture partner that
crucial:everybody wants to promote. Everybody's out there wanting to
crucial:do this, but how can you actually be that person that
crucial:people are queuing up to promote you, and it's a new way of
crucial:looking at it from today. But it is crucial if you want to be
crucial:serious at networking and creating profitable joint
crucial:ventures. Danny, welcome along, mate.
Danny Bermant:Thank you, Steve. It's so lovely to be here. I'm
Danny Bermant:just going to share my screen, and we're going to talk about
Danny Bermant:how to be the JV partner that everybody wants to promote. So,
Danny Bermant:how I want to ask you a question: Why is it that some
Danny Bermant:businesses are absolutely irresistible to other to other
Danny Bermant:people? They they see what you do, they love you, they cannot
Danny Bermant:wait to tell their audiences about you. And with other
Danny Bermant:partners, there's just lack of enthusiasm. So, what we're going
Danny Bermant:to do in the next five minutes is look at why that happens, and
Danny Bermant:in order to illustrate why that happens, in order to teach you
Danny Bermant:how to be the business that everybody everybody wants to
Danny Bermant:promote, I want to show you a simple step that you can take,
Danny Bermant:that all of you can take, that doesn't require a huge amount of
Danny Bermant:effort. Let me illustrate the difference between a lonely JD
Danny Bermant:partner, someone who finds it quite hard to attract partners,
Danny Bermant:and someone who is does excels. Okay, so first you have Simon,
Danny Bermant:the sleazy JD partner. He contacts you, doesn't really
Danny Bermant:take that much interest in what you do. He says, "I've got a,
Danny Bermant:I've got a." A launch coming up. I've got a masterclass I'm
Danny Bermant:running on November the first, and I'd really like to have you
Danny Bermant:to run it. So he says he tells you all about it. He sends all
Danny Bermant:you all the promotional materials. Doesn't really check
Danny Bermant:in with you once he's asked you to promote, and once he promoted
Danny Bermant:him, he just disappears, never to be heard of again. Doesn't
Danny Bermant:give you feedback on how it went. Doesn't thank you. Doesn't
Danny Bermant:ask you what he can do to support you. Right now, let's
Danny Bermant:contrast that with Susie, the rockstar JV partner. So Suzy
Danny Bermant:contacts you when she has a chat with you. She doesn't go on on
Danny Bermant:about how her business. She spends the half an hour call
Danny Bermant:really understanding you, what you're trying to achieve, what
Danny Bermant:your goals are, and she says, "What can I do to support you?
Danny Bermant:She actually finds out what you've got carrying on going on.
Danny Bermant:She offers to promote it. She checks in with you regularly,
Danny Bermant:and and then you know you are very keen to obviously work with
Danny Bermant:her because she's been so supportive to you. And when that
Danny Bermant:happens, she is very communicative. She tells you how
Danny Bermant:you did when you promoted her. She continues to stay in touch
Danny Bermant:with you to ask to ask you what else you can do to support you,
Danny Bermant:so let's just contrast the two. And what you're seeing is
Danny Bermant:between the two is one is just a take up, one is approaching you
Danny Bermant:and says, "What can you do for me? And the other one starts off
Danny Bermant:by saying, "What can I give you? And it's really important to
Danny Bermant:understand the human psychology, which is the the the psychology
Danny Bermant:of givers gain that when you when I want to help your
Danny Bermant:business you're going to want to help my business and
Danny Bermant:unfortunately many of us who enter the joint venture space
Danny Bermant:the first thing we do is we have something that we want promoted
Danny Bermant:and we're desperate to ask straight away for other people's
Danny Bermant:help and it's very difficult to get on people's radars because
Danny Bermant:people don't know anything about you. They don't know how
Danny Bermant:trustful you are. They don't know how reliable you are. And
Danny Bermant:it's always been my way of working. When I meet someone
Danny Bermant:who's a new, potentially a new partner I can work with, I
Danny Bermant:always try and give them value in advance. So that doesn't
Danny Bermant:always mean that you promote them first before they promote
Danny Bermant:you, but it means that what is the what is a what is an act of
Danny Bermant:generosity that if you meet somebody and you feel positive
Danny Bermant:about working with them, what's an act of generosity that you
Danny Bermant:can do to get them to work with you? How can you be the business
Danny Bermant:that everybody wants to promote? And I think a really, really
Danny Bermant:important way to do that is is is is is do something like think
Danny Bermant:about what you can do to help them. Like, can you refer them
Danny Bermant:to a to somebody? Right? Is there is there a really good
Danny Bermant:trivi partner you can you can refer them to?
Danny Bermant:One of the ways I give value in advance is that I host a monthly
Danny Bermant:meetup for my clients on the last Wednesday of the month, I
Danny Bermant:have a curated group of clients and people I invite, and I
Danny Bermant:specifically design the networking meetup to have
Danny Bermant:different people each month to help everybody help find other
Danny Bermant:JV partners. So I invite people along to that and offer to help
Danny Bermant:them that way. So think about something valuable you can
Danny Bermant:advance. It doesn't have to be something that's a huge amount
Danny Bermant:of work for you, but it's going to be something that's very
Danny Bermant:valuable to that person, and it gets them to understand who you
Danny Bermant:are and what you can do to help them. The next thing is invest
Danny Bermant:in the relationship. When you're having a get-to-know call with
Danny Bermant:somebody, don't just jump into like what you can do to work
Danny Bermant:together. Actually, get tie, get to know the person. Like, why do
Danny Bermant:you set up your business? What are you, you know, what are you
Danny Bermant:trying to achieve? Like, what is your goal this year? And so, get
Danny Bermant:get really really get a good understanding what they're what
Danny Bermant:they're doing, so so you can see where you're able to to give
Danny Bermant:value. Third thing is, don't approach a relationship as a
Danny Bermant:transaction. Don't straight away think, oh great, I've got a
Danny Bermant:masterclass on running in a month's time. I get up to
Danny Bermant:support it, right? Think long term. Like, what? Awesome. What
Danny Bermant:are your plans over the next year? Instead of what you do for
Danny Bermant:me, frame the language in terms of what can we do to support
Danny Bermant:each other. What do we both have running over the next year that
Danny Bermant:we can help each other with? So, so always think beyond the first
Danny Bermant:thing that you want to do with them. Think, think holistically,
Danny Bermant:but altogether what you can do to work together, and also help
Danny Bermant:your partners to help you. This is a really important one. That
Danny Bermant:if you are going to go to the trouble of asking somebody to
Danny Bermant:promote your summit or to promote your masterclass, right?
Danny Bermant:Be helpful. Give them lots of signposting. Like say to them,
Danny Bermant:send them out reminder emails regularly to tell them about
Danny Bermant:your event that's coming up. Make sure that you're emailing
Danny Bermant:the right person. Make sure do they have everything they need
Danny Bermant:to promote you? Because sometimes you send people an
Danny Bermant:email, they lose it, or email gets sent to the wrong person,
Danny Bermant:or email email goes into spam. It might be that they're not
Danny Bermant:sure which date to promote you, so give them a guide on you know
Danny Bermant:if you've got a running a product launch and there's a
Danny Bermant:freebie you're giving away. Webinar giving way, maybe take
Danny Bermant:the trouble to ask people what do you prefer, what what does
Danny Bermant:your audience respond better to? Freebie, webinars. These are the
Danny Bermant:dates that I think would probably be me most helpful. So
Danny Bermant:try and help your partners to support you to get to get better
Danny Bermant:results. There is nothing as pleasurable as working with a JD
Danny Bermant:partner where they are communicative, they send
Danny Bermant:everything that you need, they check in with you regularly,
Danny Bermant:they WhatsApp you, and so on. Okay, and finally, this is the
Danny Bermant:most important thing: is that if you want people to collaborate
Danny Bermant:with you, you need to be JV ready. And so that means that
Danny Bermant:there's certain things you need to have in place that people
Danny Bermant:want to work with you. So, for I'll give you an example: if you
Danny Bermant:want people to promote you, you need to be able to have
Danny Bermant:something called a one sheet, which means that you've got a
Danny Bermant:simple document that tells them everything about your, in a
Danny Bermant:nutshell, everything that you're trying to promote, your your
Danny Bermant:your offer, your your promotional period that you're
Danny Bermant:that you're running, and so on. So there's a whole package of
Danny Bermant:things that that will help. There's that. There's obviously
Danny Bermant:having an email list. There's having some freebie that people
Danny Bermant:could promote. So, so that's the final step, being JV ready. So,
Danny Bermant:what is being JV ready? And that's my gift to you today.
Danny Bermant:So, if you go to www.captainjv.co, and we'll drop
Danny Bermant:the link in the chat again, there is a freebie called the JV
Danny Bermant:Success Checklist, and basically, it's the five steps
Danny Bermant:of what you need to have in place to make you become a JD
Danny Bermant:partner that everybody wants to promote. One of one of the I
Danny Bermant:mentioned one of them. There's something called a something
Danny Bermant:called a one sheet that you need to have, which tells JD partners
Danny Bermant:about what you've got, what your offer is, and what your
Danny Bermant:promotion is. But there's a couple of other things you need
Danny Bermant:to have in place, and that's all that's all described in the
Danny Bermant:checklist. And if you have any other questions, just go again.
Danny Bermant:Go to that address www. captionjv. co. Let me know if
Danny Bermant:you have any questions, and I will drop my my details in the
Danny Bermant:chat today.
Steve Brossman:Can everybody now see why he's called Captain
Steve Brossman:JV? That was probably the most valuable five minutes I've heard
Steve Brossman:in a very very long time about how clear, concise, and step by
Steve Brossman:step you need to be JV ready and to be successful. If you want to
Steve Brossman:do this seriously, follow the steps, do it professionally, and
Steve Brossman:your business will grow. Danny, that was brilliant, mate. Has
Steve Brossman:anybody got any questions? Because there was some brilliant
Steve Brossman:nuggets there. Is the the link is in the chat. Everybody, just
Steve Brossman:just go and download that if you if you want to do any sort of
Steve Brossman:joint venture. The work that that David Ricklin is finding
Steve Brossman:great JV partners, referral partners with with Derek has
Steve Brossman:been absolutely brilliant today. I've had some great chats with
Steve Brossman:Danny, and I know the work that he does. Derek, you've got your
Steve Brossman:hand up, mate.
Derek Morgan:Yeah, there's some real gold in what David and
Derek Morgan:Danny have put to us today, your challenge sitting in the room is
Derek Morgan:not to just absorb more information. Going back to what
Derek Morgan:Steve spoke about, what are you? What time are you going to block
Derek Morgan:out in your calendar to take what David has said, what Denny
Derek Morgan:has said, what Steve has said, and actually start to implement
Derek Morgan:those in your very next conversation, because it's
Derek Morgan:execution. Everyone gets so busy and distracted. Everything's so
Derek Morgan:noisy now. It's the execution is where the the revenue is.
Derek Morgan:Execution is where the value is. So that's my challenge to you.
Derek Morgan:There's some absolute gold being dropped today. What are you
Derek Morgan:going to do with it? You spent the time to turn up. What are
Derek Morgan:you going to do to execute with what you've just learnt today?
Steve Brossman:I think we might use that in the breakout room.
Steve Brossman:What's the one thing that you took from either of the three?
Steve Brossman:Mainly, we're talking about what Danny has just said. What is the
Steve Brossman:one thing that you're going to do in the next couple of days?
Steve Brossman:So as we head off into the breakout rooms, we've got time
Steve Brossman:for some more questions. Head off into the breakout room. What
Steve Brossman:is the one thing that you either took away from today, and/or
Steve Brossman:you're going to implement to help you be JV ready to do the
Steve Brossman:next joint venture, to seek referral partners, to seek
Steve Brossman:referrals, what's that one thing that you're going to going to do
Steve Brossman:in the next couple of days? Because if you just walk away
Steve Brossman:from this with a lot of great ideas, as Derek just said, now's
Steve Brossman:the time to implement. Because holy crap, there was some good
Steve Brossman:stuff here today, and Danny, thank you, Captain JV. There is
Steve Brossman:understandable why you work with over 500 people and generated $5
Steve Brossman:million. You do it so professionally, but it's it's
Steve Brossman:step by step. Step and you're laying out the steps and you're
Steve Brossman:giving everybody a checklist to follow. So, thank you for your
Steve Brossman:your generosity in giving that as well because you've just
Steve Brossman:reminded me of a few gaps that I've got. I'm going to go back
Steve Brossman:to your checklist.
Susan Jarema:That was amazing, Danny. And Danny's been a a
Susan Jarema:fabulous partner for us, and and when people say to me, "Where do
Susan Jarema:you get such great speakers and partners from? I get a lot from
Susan Jarema:Danny. I have to say, connection with you has been fabulous for
Susan Jarema:my world. Have met in person. We have met in person. We
Steve Brossman:have. We have. All right.
Susan Jarema:And that's the icing on the cake. You meet
Susan Jarema:people virtually, and they become great friends and
Susan Jarema:collaborators, and and you don't even realize you haven't met in
Susan Jarema:person. And then afterwards, when you get to meet in person,
Susan Jarema:it's just this icing on the cake. You have a great
Susan Jarema:relationship already, and it becomes so much better and so
Susan Jarema:much deeper. And you know, we all get the chance to once in a
Susan Jarema:while meet each other when people are traveling. So it's
Susan Jarema:super exciting. I have the rooms ready. Steve, you want to repeat
Susan Jarema:the question again? What are we going to do to be JV ready? What
Susan Jarema:do we take away today?
Steve Brossman:Yeah. What's the one thing out of all three?
Steve Brossman:Danny's giving us some great things, David and Derek. What's
Steve Brossman:that one thing that you are going to take away and implement
Steve Brossman:in the next, let's go say five days.
Susan Jarema:Okay, this is awesome. Here we go, everybody.
Susan Jarema:Yeah, everybody's back. Can we
Steve Brossman:to share like just three people? What is the
Steve Brossman:key thing that you're going to do in the next three to five
Steve Brossman:days? Who wants to put their hand up and to say, "Yep, here's
Steve Brossman:one thing that I'm definitely going to do" Somebody kicked you
Steve Brossman:in the bum or gave you an aha, David? Who kicked you in the
Steve Brossman:bum?
David Riklan:Come on, several of you kicked me in the bun. I'm
David Riklan:going to take the next hour, and I'm going to focus. I'm going to
David Riklan:go through everybody and come up with a game plan for who I want
David Riklan:to connect with. That's what I'm doing the next hour.
Guest:Hey, Steve! I just want to do a shout out to Steve.
Guest:Steve is the epitome of the best joint venture partner ever. All
Guest:the things that Danny talked about, Steve did with me, and
Guest:you know. So, so I just want to say thank you so much for living
Guest:up to that and showing me an example. What and what I'm going
Guest:to do. The first thing is to take the next hour, not right
Guest:after, because I have another meeting, but after that's
Guest:finished, I'm going to take the hour to go through my list and
Guest:do exactly as you said. Do you know? For all the time that I've
Guest:been networking, I've never done that. I can't believe it. I
Guest:didn't think of doing it that way. That's amazing. That's what
Guest:I'm going to do. Thank you, Steve.
Derek Morgan:Awesome, awesome, Derek. Susan, thank you again
Derek Morgan:for creating such a great room and a great space. There was a
Derek Morgan:couple of people in different rooms that either turned up late
Derek Morgan:or they had other things that were distracting them. They
Derek Morgan:might have missed a presentation. Is there a way
Derek Morgan:that people can actually go and revisit the talks and the
Derek Morgan:presentations that you want to give to people?
Susan Jarema:This this event will actually be in our podcast,
Susan Jarema:so it'll be out in the next three or four weeks on the on
Susan Jarema:the Grand Connection podcast.
Steve Brossman:Can see a lot of hands. Just wave your hands. Has
Steve Brossman:anybody got value added today? All the guests from other
Steve Brossman:communities, have you got value added today? This is just the
Steve Brossman:tip of the iceberg of what the Grand Connection is all about.
Steve Brossman:This is one event that they have per month. You've got multiple
Steve Brossman:events, you've got communities, you've got discounts, you've got
Steve Brossman:giveaways, you've got education platforms, the whole box and
Steve Brossman:dice. And a lot of people think, well, I can't get to everything.
Steve Brossman:You don't have to. You just have to get to the things that you
Steve Brossman:do, Susan. It would be remiss not to have a little bit of a
Steve Brossman:recap of what the Grand Connection is all about and how
Steve Brossman:you, who are not members of the Grand Connection, can get
Steve Brossman:started very quickly. How can they become a Grand Connection
Steve Brossman:member, get into trial, and what is what else do you get in the
Steve Brossman:Grand Connection?
Susan Jarema:Well, just to let you know, if you're a guest the
Susan Jarema:first time, you can grab a guest pass on our website and come to
Susan Jarema:three events as a guest. Mixers are always free events, so you
Susan Jarema:can continue to come to the mixers. But we would love to
Susan Jarema:invite you to become part of something grand. We're all about
Susan Jarema:collaboration. We have our grand growth model, which has many
Susan Jarema:ways that we help you achieve grand growth. I put a link in
Susan Jarema:the chat. Just a little heads up: we are about grand giving.
Susan Jarema:That is the philosophy of all of our community. That is an
Susan Jarema:underlying value, and the Grand Connection donates all of its JV
Susan Jarema:partner commissions to a school in Uganda. Who's a Grand
Susan Jarema:Connection member? Robert founded it to support community
Susan Jarema:in his own village. And your first month's membership also
Susan Jarema:goes towards the school. And we've gotten them water tanks,
Susan Jarema:beds, roofs, buildings. We've been doing a lot for the school.
Susan Jarema:You're part of helping children succeed in Uganda. These are all
Susan Jarema:our grand group leaders. There's different groups based on
Susan Jarema:different interests, and it's all included in your membership.
Susan Jarema:You can pick and choose the groups you want to attend, and
Susan Jarema:you don't need to do everything. As Steve said, there we're not
Susan Jarema:here to make you overwhelmed. We're here to provide you with
Susan Jarema:the right opportunities and the right connections and the right
Susan Jarema:choices that help you succeed because we all are on different
Susan Jarema:parts of our journey and learning different things and
Susan Jarema:looking to meet different people that are collaboration partners.
Susan Jarema:We have our mini meets that's about getting to know each other
Susan Jarema:and build referrals. We also have the referral app that when
Susan Jarema:you checked in, you're going to learn a little bit more about
Susan Jarema:it. It helps you make connections. It will actually
Susan Jarema:give you matches as well, and we have different collaborative
Susan Jarema:marketing programs. Members that you can actually get into the
Susan Jarema:next grand giveaway if you want to get up on the on the top of
Susan Jarema:the page, get those in as soon as you can. We also have a lot
Susan Jarema:of deals. So as I said, X Taws is one of our partners. We have
Susan Jarema:a deal on Go High Level, we have a deal on Zoom. We have a deal
Susan Jarema:on Chatbridge Connect, the whole suite with Engage Pro and
Susan Jarema:Chatbridge. That's a Chatbridge is a tool to upload the the the
Susan Jarema:chat and organizes it for you. A lot of these tools will
Susan Jarema:integrate with your Go High Level if you're using that. This
Susan Jarema:is what I save $2,700 a year by using these tools. So I know it
Susan Jarema:works. Another thing that you get as a member is a free access
Susan Jarema:to Go Connection. Steve Gaston, who's a partner of many people
Susan Jarema:here over in Scotland, he has a large community, a lot of
Susan Jarema:European events, events in Europe virtual. We get free
Susan Jarema:membership to that, which is $25 a month savings that you don't
Susan Jarema:pay as a free member. There's so many things I don't want to
Susan Jarema:overwhelm you. I put a link into what's all included. The main
Susan Jarema:thing is to just get started and be part of the community. There
Susan Jarema:is so much value. You will be able to recoup your investment
Susan Jarema:very quickly at the Grand Connection. Our annual
Susan Jarema:membership saves you four and a half months, so it's only 449,
Susan Jarema:which we're set to 3742 a month. That's U.S. dollars, and as I
Susan Jarema:said, your membership is locked in, so it will not go up. So you
Susan Jarema:are locked in for life at that membership, even with our high
Susan Jarema:inflation. And love to invite you to start your grand journey
Susan Jarema:now. Members who are here, I welcome you to share a little
Susan Jarema:bit in the chat about what you love about the community, and if
Susan Jarema:you want to share something, Steve, I know you've been a
Susan Jarema:member for a long, long time and a fabulous partner. I want to
Susan Jarema:thank you, all of you. What a powerful reminder that the real
Susan Jarema:value of networking is not simply making connections; it is
Susan Jarema:in what we do with those connections next. Derek
Susan Jarema:encouraged us to look within our existing networks, ask better
Susan Jarema:questions, and follow through on opportunities that may already
Susan Jarema:be waiting for us.
Susan Jarema:David reminded us that the successful partnerships begin by
Susan Jarema:understanding the value we can bring to others when we help
Susan Jarema:other people grow their audience, promote their work,
Susan Jarema:make valuable connections, or achieve their goals. We create a
Susan Jarema:strong foundation for reciprocity. Danny Bermond
Susan Jarema:showed us how to become the kind of referral and joint venture
Susan Jarema:partner everyone wants to work with. Lead with generosity,
Susan Jarema:invest in the relationship, think beyond a single
Susan Jarema:transaction. Communicate clearly. Make it easy for your
Susan Jarema:partners to support you. And Steve Brossman gave us the very
practical challenge:reserve time after every networking
practical challenge:event to review your connections, follow up, and
practical challenge:decide what you will do next. Information alone does not
practical challenge:create growth; implementation does. So, what is one action you
practical challenge:will take away from this episode? Reach out to a
practical challenge:potential partner, follow up with someone you already know in
practical challenge:your network, clarify the value you can offer, or begin
practical challenge:preparing the materials that will make you referral ready. I
practical challenge:hope the breakout discussion questions, partner
practical challenge:introductions, and live conversations gave you a feel of
practical challenge:the energy, learning, and connections you can experience
practical challenge:at the Grand Connection. You can find more information about our
practical challenge:speakers, along with all of their valuable Grand gifts, in
practical challenge:the show notes. And if you would like more tools to help you
practical challenge:connect, create, and collaborate, claim your
practical challenge:complimentary Grand Growth Bundle at
practical challenge:GrandConnection.ca/gifts, and learn more, of course, about
practical challenge:becoming part of the Grand Connection community. Until next
practical challenge:time, keep connecting, keep giving value, and keep creating
practical challenge:something grand.
