Melissa Deally:

Thank you, Robyn, for choosing to be a demo for our Clear the Screen podcast demos here, and for the Clear the Screen exercise. We know that you are a practitioner of this, and you already know how to do this. However, for the purpose of the demo, we are going to start from the beginning and take you through the whole process. And we love that you're here. You know, listening to your body, recognizing that anxiety is a message from your unconscious mind, going knock, knock, knock, you're thinking about the wrong thing, and when you shift it, the anxiety can leave your body. Because this tool isn't something that you use once and then you're done for life, this is a tool that you can learn to use and then use it as needed whenever anxiety shows up. We're not turning people into robots. What we want is for people to have awareness and recognize that that anxiety is literally a messenger.

Billie:

And and, you know, I just want to commend you also, Robin, because you are one of our newest practitioners in Time Line Therapy®. And the fact that, you know, we know that we sometimes can't see outside our own blind spots, and that you lean on the community when you know that, Hey, life's kind of knocking me over right now. I need some support, right? And that you are actually embodying this work because we're big on that, you know, we don't just walk the walk, we talk the talk and walk the walk, right? We teach it, and then we actually use these skills. So congratulations for, you know, agreeing to come on and and do this with us, even the fact that you already know how to do it. So, you know what? Congratulations to you. We're we're so proud when people can, you know, make themselves really, you know, get to that point where they have the awareness that yes, I need some support, right? There's no, you know, we have sometimes some programming around, oh, we can't ask for help, we got to just keep it all together, right? Especially I know you're a mom, like, you know, you got to just keep it all together and we got to run the business, and we got to do this, and we got to do all these things, and we got all these hats. And yet, sometimes you can just fall back onto community and be like, you know what? I just need someone to throw me a little life raft right now because, you know, I'm a little sinking. And as much as you know how to do these skills yourself, having someone facilitate it for you is always just a a beautiful, you know, support system for you. So, we're so happy to have you here.

Robyn Coles:

Yeah, it's different than listening to the recordings.

Melissa Deally:

Exactly. This is more interactive than just listening to the recordings. And just as a reminder, too, of the definition of anxiety. Anxiety is us worrying about something in the future, which means it hasn't happened yet. Which means our mind is imagining it going wrong, and that is what's causing the worry. And in this work, what we're going to be doing is shifting your imagination of this event and how it goes from it all going wrong to having it go exactly the way that you want it to go and focusing on that. And at that point, your unconscious mind can say, Okay, now you're thinking about the right thing, and the anxiety is released from your body. So, as you know, we always start out with determining where your timeline is and taking you on a first float, and I'm going to do that, and then Billy is going to take you through the actual exercise. It always takes longer to do the setup than it does to do the exercise. And as a reminder, however your unconscious mind has your timeline show up for you is absolutely perfect. However you float when I guide you through that is absolutely perfect. All you need to do is just listen to my instructions and follow them. Is that all right with you, Robyn?

Robyn Coles:

Yes.

Melissa Deally:

Beautiful. So, I'm going to let Billy do all the calibration on the anxiety after we do this first float, okay?

Robyn Coles:

Okay.

Melissa Deally:

So, we've been chatting for a bit, so let's just get out of our monkey mind, put all of that other stuff that's happened today away, take a few deep inhales and exhale hard. Good, nice, beautiful. So, Robyn, if I were to ask your unconscious mind where your past is and where your future is, I have an idea that you might say it's from right to left, or back to front, or up to down, or in some direction in relation to your body. And it's not your conscious concept that I'm interested in; it's your unconscious. So if I were to ask your unconscious mind where is your past, to what direction would you point?

Robyn Coles:

Kind of left and a little back.

Melissa Deally:

Perfect. And if I were to ask your future, to what direction would you point?

Robyn Coles:

Right and a bit forward.

Melissa Deally:

Beautiful. Okay. So would you just bring to mind those two directions that you just pointed to, and do you notice they imply a line?

Robyn Coles:

Yes.

Melissa Deally:

Good. Now, when I say line, I don't mean to imply only visual, because in a moment I'm going to ask you to float up above that line, and by float I also mean as sounds floating on the wind or floating in the bathtub or visually, however you float on your timeline and above your timeline is absolutely perfect. So can you just now close your eyes and float up above your timeline and make sure you are looking through your own eyes? And now, remaining above your timeline, float back into the past. Good. Are you there? Yes. Good. Now float back toward now and stop there. Are you there?

Robyn Coles:

Yes.

Melissa Deally:

Good. Now facing toward the future, float up higher and farther back into the past. Good. And now float out into your future, right out into your future. Are you there?

Robyn Coles:

Yes.

Melissa Deally:

Good. Now float up higher. Float so high that your timeline seems like it's only 1 inch long. Good. Now float back to now and float down into now and come back into the room and open your eyes. How was that?

Robyn Coles:

Good.

Melissa Deally:

Beautiful.

Robyn Coles:

Floating way higher now. Yeah, cause

Melissa Deally:

you're practiced at this. Beautiful. All right, I'm going to hand you over to Billy for the actual anxiety clearing exercise.

Billie:

Yeah. As you can tell, you know, with all the techniques, they take a lot longer to set up, and you know, actual work is really, really fast. So, Robyn, I know you were telling me a little bit about something that you have some acute anxiety. So, remember, this is something that has like an end goal or, you know, you're working on a project or or something. So, can you just remind me again or just for the audience what that is that you have some anxiety around?

Robyn Coles:

So, right now, I'm creating a support group, like a community, which is, showing on here, a community, and it's not quite public yet. So, that's something I'm working on. So, that's one thing, is publishing that, as well as dealing with a business coach, which in case that contract ends on August 20th, and then after that, it's kind of taking it on myself and doing everything my self. So, right now that business coach is helping with the inside and everything else, so I just have anxiety on taking that all over and trying to manage that and, you know, family and everything. So, it's just kind of Yeah. Kind of where the acute anxiety is coming from.

Billie:

Beautiful. So, is there like an end date? I know you mentioned the date in August 20th, but is there a date after that that you are kind of worried about, or is it that date?

Robyn Coles:

I'm worried about after that date. So, like August 21st, once that contract ends with her, it's kind of like the day after, because now I'm doing it all on my own kind of thing. Got it. So, and the anxiety, the acute anxiety comes up from when I had my own accounting practice before, where I had to do everything myself. So, it's some of that's coming back up.

Billie:

Okay. So, on August 21st, what's going to happen on August 21st?

Robyn Coles:

I have no longer have the one-to-one support with her anymore. So, I no longer have her support in the Skool. I have a bit, but not the one-to-one messaging, the direct contact, the meetings, you know,

Billie:

Okay.

Robyn Coles:

weekly meetings, stuff like that.

Billie:

So, was something going to happen on August 21st that, you know, at a certain time you'll be like, okay, I'm okay?

Robyn Coles:

I think it like I'm able to manage it all. Like I'm able to manage the community, I'm able to go in there message people, and I just get into a flow of, you know, being able to do everything on my own.

Billie:

Okay. Okay. And is there is it going to be kind of like at the end of the day on August 21st when you're kind of doing this this work in the community?

Robyn Coles:

Yeah, I think so. Like time I go to bed I'll be like, Okay, I got it. And then

Billie:

Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So, we're going to because remember we're going to find a a specific time in the timeline. So, let's say it's 15 minutes after you go to bed, whatever your bedtime is.

Robyn Coles:

Yeah. Okay? So, I'd say yeah. We could say like 9:00, well, after, you know, I put the kids to bed, so I might say like, Okay, around 8:00 before I put the kids to bed or something like that. Okay.

Billie:

Yeah, because you're not going to be doing any more work at that point.

Robyn Coles:

Yeah. But sometimes I do, but yeah, I shouldn't.

Billie:

Okay. Okay.

Melissa Deally:

Okay. Okay.

Billie:

Just so that you have that that timeline in your head. Now, on a scale of 0 to 10, zero being you don't have any anxiety, 10 being the worst anxiety you've ever had, where are you on that scale right now when it comes to anxiety?

Robyn Coles:

Around an eight.

Billie:

Okay, so it's pretty substantial. Awesome, okay. All right. So, now the next question is, Robyn, how what what would be like the most perfect outcome of of Sept- of August 21st? That

Robyn Coles:

I start having community, I have at least one person already claiming my beta offer, like just, you know, having that starting point and then having everything set up in the automation of, you know, DM the direct messagings are going out and I just have to like manage, you know, kind of in the background and it's and then I can just post in the community, you know, when I need to and just kind of more of a relaxed feeling, like just in the flow. Like it's

Billie:

flowing. Okay, so that, you know, your business has launched officially and now people are signing up and you're able to manage them and it's all just kind of flowing. Okay, so now can you bring that picture to mind and you have a really clear picture of what that looks like? Yeah. Okay. And so, as you know, when we we think of, you know, the successful completion of, you know, by 8:00 that night as you start putting the kids to bed, that how you're going to feel, how what you're going to see, what you're going to hear, we want you to bring those kind of modalities to the forefront when I say think of this picture, Okay? Because right now what we're going to do is we're going to clear the screen. We're going to clear the screen from the horror show over to the love story, right? And you have an idea of what the love story looks like, right? Because people have to have an idea of like what does it actually look like to to, you know, be successful. Okay. Good. So we're at an eight. All right. So what I want you to do is just take a big deep breath, close your eyes, exhale hard. All right. And let's do the anxiety clearing exercise. So I just want you to float up above your timeline, Robyn. Float up above your timeline and I want you to float out above the the timeline to the future, about 15 minutes past after the successful completion of the event of which you thought you were anxious. Tell me when you're there.

Robyn Coles:

I'm there.

Billie:

Beautiful. Good. Now turn and look toward now along the timeline.

Robyn Coles:

Mhm.

Billie:

And now, where's the anxiety?

Robyn Coles:

It's less.

Billie:

Okay. What number is it at?

Robyn Coles:

About a six.

Billie:

Okay, good. Just by floating on your timeline. Okay, so I want you to bring that picture, that successful completion, I want you to bring it to your mind. And I want you to what we call pump up the submodalities, pump up the visual of it. All right? Make it very bright and vibrant, whatever the perfect colors are for you. All right? What are the perfect sounds? Like are you cheering, are you just being like, are you feeling yourself sigh, you know, are you just hearing your children laugh, like what are the sounds that you're hearing at that point? All right? And I want you to make those the perfect sound as well. All right? And then I want you to think of the feelings. What are you feeling right now? Are you feeling just relaxed? Are you feeling in flow? Are you feeling relief? Are you feeling joy? Are you feeling motivated, excited, whatever those feelings are that you're feeling, that yes, my my my business is flowing now, my my business coaching has been successful and now I'm I'm thriving in my business. So really lock those in, are you and make it like the perfect the perfect feeling to the level that it feels good for you. You got that? Mhm. Good. Good, good, good. All right, now turn, look toward now again on your timeline, and now ask, Where's the anxiety?

Robyn Coles:

Only a little bit, like maybe one or a two.

Billie:

Good, beautiful. That was a lot. Okay, so now let's just pump up that picture a little bit more. What are the feelings that you're going to feel, Robyn? Just think of like, you know what? I've put all this work into my business, I really want to help people, I want to help these women, and now these women are actually, you know, signing up, they're taking your beta offer, and that feeling that you're feeling of like, wow, I'm really making a difference, I'm really amplifying impact in the world, really lock in that feeling. You got it? Good. Okay, now turn and look toward now and ask yourself, now where's the anxiety?

Robyn Coles:

Now it's gone.

Billie:

Beautiful. Awesome. All right, float back to now. Float all the way back to now. Float down into now and come back into the room and open your eyes. Yay! Congratulations! So, I love the process that you just went through, Robyn, because our brain, it's just the way the wiring is, it it wants to kind of hang onto it, right? Because it's just a safety mechanism, right? It's like this, all this what if. And sometimes we have to train it. And now, as the more you do this, every time this thought comes up of, okay, what's going to happen, you do this this exercise, and it starts training it so that now automatically when you think of it, guess what? It's going to go to the love story instead of the horror show, right? It's just a matter of training our muscles, right, to to to to fire in the way that we want them.

Robyn Coles:

And for me And for me, instead of the anxiety giving the heart rate, it was the excitement my heart rate was starting to go. So, going from anxiety heart rate to, Oh, I'm getting joyful and excited. Exactly. So, well,

Billie:

there's the test right there. I was going to ask you, so how do you feel about it now?

Robyn Coles:

Yeah, it was more joy, excitement, you know, hearing my daughter going, Way to go, Mom! just like I do with her. Oh, I love

Billie:

that! I love when our kids are involved. That's beautiful. Congratulations, Robyn. Well done. You followed instructions, and, you know, it's not hard. It got the result. The anxiety just disappears. It's like, did my job here, now I can leave. So, congratulations.

Robyn Coles:

Thank you.
