Laura Gisborne:I'm going to talk to you today about
Laura Gisborne:something that you may not think you need, and it's probably
Laura Gisborne:costing you a ton of money. When Scott and I moved to Texas, we
Laura Gisborne:bought a great house. It was about 20 years old, and we
Laura Gisborne:noticed that there were cracks in the wall. And we're like,
Laura Gisborne:"Hmm, what's up with that? The realtor said, "No problem. This
Laura Gisborne:happens. It's Texas. We'll just patch it up for you. You guys
Laura Gisborne:can move on in. So we patched it up. We moved on in. Everybody
Laura Gisborne:was happy. A few months later, we noticed that not only were
Laura Gisborne:those cracks back, but they were bigger, and there were more of
Laura Gisborne:them. And my husband said, "I think something's going on here.
Laura Gisborne:We also were having some remodeling done at the house at
Laura Gisborne:the time. We walked outside, and our contractor said, "Can you
Laura Gisborne:come over here and take a look at your roof? Something looks
Laura Gisborne:really off.
Laura Gisborne:I looked at the roof, and where it was supposed to be like this,
Laura Gisborne:it was like this, and it wasn't quite as noticeable as that. You
Laura Gisborne:know, making it dramatic, but it was it was really noticeable,
Laura Gisborne:and I was like, "What is that? What's causing that? Come to
Laura Gisborne:find out, where we moved to an area where foundation problems
Laura Gisborne:are really common, which means that our insurance company said
Laura Gisborne:good luck with that. We called a foundation repair company. They
Laura Gisborne:came in and explained to us that if we didn't deal with this
Laura Gisborne:problem, it wasn't going to just be the roof. It was our
Laura Gisborne:electrical system. It was our plumbing pipes that would be
Laura Gisborne:broken. It would continue to happen until we decided to
Laura Gisborne:readdress the foundations of our house. Now, why is this
Laura Gisborne:important for you?
Laura Gisborne:This is important for you because if you've been in
Laura Gisborne:business for a while and you're not generating the revenue that
Laura Gisborne:you want to generate, it's probably not another marketing
Laura Gisborne:system. You don't need to run out and spend $197 for the next
Laura Gisborne:funnel hack. It's not going to change the bigger problem. The
Laura Gisborne:bigger problem is that your business needs a solid
Laura Gisborne:foundation, just like our house did, just like my own business
Laura Gisborne:does. Right? We had to go back and revisit what's underneath
Laura Gisborne:that's holding up the walls that were holding up the roof. Same
Laura Gisborne:thing in your business. What are the cornerstones of your
Laura Gisborne:business? We've identified four key elements that every business
Laura Gisborne:needs, and it needs to have them in a way that is not only tried
Laura Gisborne:and true. If you've been in business for a while, but it has
Laura Gisborne:to be partnered with what's current and relevant. Listen,
Laura Gisborne:last year at this time, everybody was talking about AI.
Laura Gisborne:It was all about AI. Now everybody is on AI. It's not
Laura Gisborne:that complicated anymore.
Laura Gisborne:Okay, there's lots of cool things that we're getting to do
Laura Gisborne:with it. But I'm going to tell you the businesses that are
Laura Gisborne:going to succeed, the businesses that are going to grow. The
Laura Gisborne:businesses that are going to continue to make a difference in
Laura Gisborne:the world are going to be more than AI. They're going to need
Laura Gisborne:people like you to have the vision for your calling and how
Laura Gisborne:you're meant to serve in the world. And that's only going to
Laura Gisborne:work well if your house is built on the rock instead of built on
Laura Gisborne:the sand. I'm doing a foundations training. Whether
Laura Gisborne:you're brand new in business and you just need help getting that,
Laura Gisborne:you know, you're ahead of me. You actually don't have to go
Laura Gisborne:back and fix the roof. You want to get in there and get the good
Laura Gisborne:stuff going. You have to already be in business to actually come
Laura Gisborne:to the class.
Laura Gisborne:It's not that I don't love you. It's just it won't work for you
Laura Gisborne:if you don't already have a business, or you've been in
Laura Gisborne:business for a while and you're like, hey, before I hit this
Laura Gisborne:next year, I want to make sure I shore up my foundations so that
Laura Gisborne:I'm not wasting my time, energy, and money on things that are not
