What if making money and making an impact were never meant to be competing goals? Laura challenges women entrepreneurs to stop waiting for a future level of success before building generosity, purpose, and contribution into the way they do business.
In this solo episode, Laura Gisborne, founder of Limitless Women, explores how profit and purpose can grow together when giving becomes part of who you are rather than something you add later. She shares why meaningful impact begins with an intentional decision, expands through causes aligned with your values, and becomes more powerful through collective action. Laura also reflects on the importance of building a mission-driven culture where generosity is supported by clear values and consistent action. Rather than measuring contribution by the size of a donation, she invites women to recognize the extraordinary change that becomes possible when many people participate in ways that are sustainable for them. The deeper invitation is to stop waiting until you feel successful, wealthy, or qualified enough to make a difference—and begin creating an aligned legacy from where you are today.
What You’ll Hear:
- Why profit and purpose do not have to exist on opposite sides of your business—and what shifts when contribution becomes part of your identity as a leader.
- The difference between giving because it looks good and creating a business culture where generosity reflects what genuinely matters to you.
- How your core values can become the foundation for deciding where your business contributes and the kind of impact it is designed to create.
- Why meaningful change is rarely created by one person alone, and how collective participation expands what becomes possible.
- The inner shift from waiting until you feel wealthy, accomplished, or qualified enough to contribute toward recognizing the power available in beginning now.

Welcome to the Limitless Women podcast. Our mission is to
Intro:help women business owners like you grow profitable businesses
Intro:and actualize your opportunities to serve and give to yourself
Intro:and others. Here's your host, the founder of Limitless Women,
Intro:Laura Gisborne.
Laura Gisborne:Are you a woman who struggles between whether
Laura Gisborne:you're going to make money or whether you're going to make an
Laura Gisborne:impact? I'm Laura Gisborne, founder of Limitless Women, and
Laura Gisborne:I'm here to tell you you get to do both. One of the most common
Laura Gisborne:things that I hear from emerging leaders, right? Because now I
Laura Gisborne:just turned 60. I'm talking to a lot of young women who are much
Laura Gisborne:younger than I am, and what they say is, "Gosh, I love what you
Laura Gisborne:do with limitless women. When I grow up, I want to make impact
Laura Gisborne:with my work. I want to give away money. I want to really be
Laura Gisborne:able to serve with my talents and my tithes, and I want to be
Laura Gisborne:able to spend my time making a difference in the world. So
Laura Gisborne:here's what I say to them: Guess when it starts today. Wherever
Laura Gisborne:you are today, if you haven't really gotten clear about the
Laura Gisborne:system for profits for purpose, I'm going to break it down for
Laura Gisborne:you in this video.
Laura Gisborne:Okay, the first thing you want to do is decide that this is
Laura Gisborne:something that is important to you. I'm not a big fan of doing
Laura Gisborne:philanthropy or making a difference to look good, right?
Laura Gisborne:In this season of life, God's been very, very, very generous
Laura Gisborne:with my family. We've overcome incredible adversities, both my
Laura Gisborne:husband and I, and we're so grateful that we get to do the
Laura Gisborne:work that we get to do today. Decide that you get to do this,
Laura Gisborne:not that you have to do it. It's not about how it's going to look
Laura Gisborne:in your marketing. It's going to become who you be in the world,
Laura Gisborne:and that's a big difference in how you perceive your work. When
Laura Gisborne:you know that you get to do it, then you just choose. Decide how
Laura Gisborne:you want to give. You may give a small percentage off of the top
Laura Gisborne:of one of your programs. Now we donate the first 20% of our
Laura Gisborne:gross revenue. I do not recommend this for you if you
Laura Gisborne:are new in business.
Laura Gisborne:Okay, this is my ninth business. I've exited several businesses.
Laura Gisborne:I've been very blessed. I can afford to make my life around
Laura Gisborne:philanthropy. If you're young and you're getting started, just
Laura Gisborne:choose one program, choose one service that you do. So for
Laura Gisborne:every one of this coaching program, we donate the first $50
Laura Gisborne:to the second step, which is who's your cause, right? So
Laura Gisborne:decide that you want to do it, then decide what percentage or
Laura Gisborne:what dollar amount makes sense for you? The second thing is
Laura Gisborne:where is your money going? Now, over the years, we've been
Laura Gisborne:really blessed to support foundations that are currently
Laura Gisborne:across five continents. We're working with many, many
Laura Gisborne:different organizations through my community because I'm in the
Laura Gisborne:business of leading leaders. Right? If it's just me, I'm one
Laura Gisborne:person. I'm not going to make the impact as I'm going to make
Laura Gisborne:by pouring into you, so that you're making your impact, and
Laura Gisborne:Lee's making his impact, and Richard's making his impact, and
Laura Gisborne:Lisa's making her impact, and Marie's making her impact. Right
Laura Gisborne:together, collectively is how we heal the world. So, what you
Laura Gisborne:want to decide is what's important to you.
Laura Gisborne:And my business advice for you on this one is: How does it
Laura Gisborne:align with your brand? I know that when we went to Africa this
Laura Gisborne:year, we took a group of our legacy leaders there to work on
Laura Gisborne:the ground with 300 young women, ages 11 to 14. We all came home
Laura Gisborne:as different people. Not only did we get to give our time, our
Laura Gisborne:talents, and our tithes, and pour into these young women. But
Laura Gisborne:I'm going to tell you something: they poured into us, and we had
Laura Gisborne:hope for the future. We saw the opportunity for humanity that we
Laura Gisborne:didn't see before. Right? We came home fired up in our
Laura Gisborne:business. Choose wisely. Choose a cause that aligns with your
Laura Gisborne:values. If you don't have your core values for your company
Laura Gisborne:figured out, reach out to me about that. That's a whole
Laura Gisborne:nother training. But I will tell you that as a mission-driven
Laura Gisborne:person, you need to have a culture that speaks to what's
Laura Gisborne:important in the way that your business does business, and
Laura Gisborne:those secret sauces often live in your core values. At
Laura Gisborne:Limitless Women, we believe we get to give.
Laura Gisborne:You've heard me speak about it already in this video, right? We
Laura Gisborne:believe that action changes everything. It's not someday
Laura Gisborne:when I think about it that it's going to get different. God
Laura Gisborne:bless all of us that are faith-based people that are
Laura Gisborne:praying to be shown. But I got to tell you, I believe God asks
Laura Gisborne:us to meet him. I believe that we have to take the action. We
Laura Gisborne:receive the invitation, we receive the opportunity, and
Laura Gisborne:then we have to take the action.
Laura Gisborne:So your second step in this process is you're going to
Laura Gisborne:decide how you're going to give, and you're going to get into
Laura Gisborne:action with it. That's going to lead you to the third piece,
Laura Gisborne:which is let people know to. A lot of years for me to be able
Laura Gisborne:to talk about myself as a philanthropist. I didn't feel
Laura Gisborne:that I was qualified. I didn't feel that I had given away
Laura Gisborne:enough money. I was like, "Well, when I give my way to millions,
Laura Gisborne:then I can use that language. Right? Here's what I know: the
Laura Gisborne:majority of shift and change around eradicating poverty on
Laura Gisborne:the planet, for as long as it's really been tracked well from
Laura Gisborne:the 1970s is when the United Nations got serious about
Laura Gisborne:tracking the impact of different initiatives.
Laura Gisborne:Right, what we know is that the collective actions of many
Laura Gisborne:people are what it takes to get great results. I'm so grateful
Laura Gisborne:for the foundations and for the individuals, but they are a
Laura Gisborne:small percentage of what actually happens in donations.
Laura Gisborne:Donations are often from working-class people like me and
Laura Gisborne:you, making a little donation as we can, as a part of a community
Laura Gisborne:committed to change and service. It's never been a better time to
Laura Gisborne:be alive. There's never been more opportunity for you to
Laura Gisborne:create impact in the world, and the infrastructure that you
Laura Gisborne:choose to adopt in your business may touch so many lives that you
Laura Gisborne:may never even know. Right? I'm the founder of Limitless Women.
Laura Gisborne:My name is Laura Gisborne. If I can support you in any way,
Laura Gisborne:please don't hesitate to reach out. You can hop into my
Laura Gisborne:calendar personally at schedulemycall dot today.
Laura Gisborne:There's a few questions there to let me know who you are. The
Laura Gisborne:link will take you right to my calendar. If you see that I'm
Laura Gisborne:not available for a few weeks, please be patient with me. I
Laura Gisborne:travel frequently, and it's my pleasure to really talk to you
Laura Gisborne:heart to heart and help you get access to whatever resources you
Laura Gisborne:need, so you can join me in helping others get the resources
Laura Gisborne:they need.
