How To Know When It’s Time To Raise Your Prices

Raising your prices isn’t about following a trend or deciding you should simply charge more—it’s about knowing, with integrity, that your work creates meaningful transformation. In this episode, Laura explores the deeper indicators that signal when a business owner may be ready to evaluate her pricing, using Limitless Women and her own leadership experiences to bring those principles to life.

Laura shares how clarity around the transformation you create, evidence of real client results, and discernment about who you are—and are not—meant to serve all contribute to stronger pricing decisions. She also explores the identity shift that happens when women move beyond delivering their expertise and begin building systems that allow their impact to expand. At the heart of the conversation is personal responsibility: both the business owner and the client must be willing to participate fully in creating results. Strong boundaries are not a rejection of people; they create space for aligned partnerships where transformation can actually happen. Rather than raising prices because the marketplace says you should, this episode invites you to build the certainty that comes from knowing the value, impact, and integrity of your work.

What You’ll Hear:

  • The deeper question behind raising your prices—and why pricing confidence begins with certainty about the transformation your work creates.
  • The role real client experiences play in helping a business owner recognize the value and impact already present in her work.
  • How an entrepreneur’s identity can shift as her expertise becomes something that can be supported by systems and expanded through others.
  • Why knowing who is not aligned with your work can become just as important as understanding the people you are meant to serve.
  • The relationship between boundaries, personal responsibility, and creating the conditions for clients and businesses to thrive.

Intro:

Welcome to the Limitless Women podcast. Our mission is to

Intro:

help women business owners like you grow profitable businesses

Intro:

and actualize your opportunities to serve and give to yourself

Intro:

and others. Here's your host, the founder of Limitless Women,

Intro:

Laura Gisborne. Do

Laura Gisborne:

you ever wonder when it's time to raise your

Laura Gisborne:

prices? You know, there's a lot of language out there and a lot

Laura Gisborne:

of training about how to charge premium prices for a premium

Laura Gisborne:

outcome. I want to scale that back a little bit for you and

Laura Gisborne:

talk to you about what I found are the actual things you want

Laura Gisborne:

to evaluate in order for you to know that it's time. The first

Laura Gisborne:

thing that you want to evaluate is: Can you provide an actual

Laura Gisborne:

transformation for your people? When you have a client and

Laura Gisborne:

you're offering a promise, I want you to ask yourself in your

own integrity:

Do you know that what happens for them is a true

own integrity:

transformation? I'll use Limitless Women as an example

own integrity:

because it's my company, and I'm talking to the camera. We know

own integrity:

that women who come to us are great at what they do. We tend

own integrity:

to attract a lot of service-based professionals.

own integrity:

They may have gone to medical school. They might have become

own integrity:

an attorney.

own integrity:

They might be an accountant. They might have a real estate

own integrity:

brokerage. They've worked really hard to get to where they are.

own integrity:

The challenge is that no one taught them about business. They

own integrity:

learned about how to have a skill, but they haven't learned

own integrity:

about how to build teams, how to scale what their finances are,

own integrity:

how to track things. Right? Unless they're an accountant, in

own integrity:

which case I hope they know those things. Right? What I want

own integrity:

to say to you is that the transformation that happens for

own integrity:

a woman when she comes into our world is that she goes from

own integrity:

feeling ashamed and embarrassed that she's not farther along.

own integrity:

She's got these credentials. She's worked really hard to get

own integrity:

here. She knows she's great at what she does, but she feels sad

own integrity:

inside and a little embarrassed that with all this credibility

own integrity:

and all this investment, she's not farther along in her

own integrity:

business. What we do is we bring that leader in, and we love on

own integrity:

her, and we support her with building the systems that she

own integrity:

needs, so that her impact can be scaled in the world, so that she

own integrity:

can take the uniqueness that she has in her genes and her DNA and

own integrity:

pour it into systems that other people can deliver, so more

own integrity:

lives are impacted, and she gets to see herself as a catalyst. We

own integrity:

also invite her to make a donation to the charity of her

own integrity:

choice, so she no longer has to say, "Someday, when I old enough

own integrity:

or when I'm successful enough, I can make a difference. She

own integrity:

actually gets to give as one of the criteria to work with us.

own integrity:

Right? It's kind of cool. Her identity begins to shift. She

own integrity:

sees herself in a new way. That's knowing your transformation.

own integrity:

Got it. The second thing that I want you to really look at is:

own integrity:

Do you have at least three people that you've helped with

own integrity:

your work that would loud and proud get on a camera or talk to

own integrity:

another person who's a prospect and tell them about what

own integrity:

happened before they met you and what happened after the work.

own integrity:

You know, one of my favorite mentors has passed away a few

own integrity:

years ago. Her name is Susan Henkels. She's a great TED talk.

own integrity:

What if there's nothing wrong with you? I also encouraged her

own integrity:

to write her book before she passed away, she's a woman who

own integrity:

changed my life. I cannot tell you how many people, male and

own integrity:

female, I have brought to Susan Henkel's before she left this

own integrity:

planet because I was so grateful for the mentorship and the

own integrity:

leadership and the role modeling she had provided for me as a

own integrity:

young woman. When somebody has had a great result working with

own integrity:

you, they are thrilled to tell other people about it. We often

own integrity:

forget to ask. So, do you have two or three people that have

own integrity:

experienced great results with your work, and would they be

own integrity:

willing to share that? This isn't so much about how you

own integrity:

create testimonials or social proof. I just want you to know,

own integrity:

in your own knowing, when you have that, you've got three

own integrity:

lives you've transformed through your work. You're ready to

own integrity:

evaluate your pricing structure. The third thing I really want

own integrity:

you to consider is this: Have you gotten really clear about

own integrity:

who is not your person?

own integrity:

This is a tough one for us as women. We want to take care of

own integrity:

people. We want to be liked. We got all the things, right? But

own integrity:

when you say yes to someone who's not aligned with your

own integrity:

company's core values or is not going to be a thriving member of

own integrity:

your community, I received a text this morning from a friend

own integrity:

who is also a client who just you know is really stuck in

own integrity:

being a victim, and when she was willing to take action and make

own integrity:

differences with her work, we had a great relationship. As

own integrity:

soon as she started whining and complaining, and this is a

own integrity:

person who's very successful and has doctor by her name, I just

own integrity:

said, you know, I think we're probably complete for now. She

own integrity:

reached out to complain about something, and I said, okay,

own integrity:

what would you like? Me to do for you, so oh no no! I just

own integrity:

wanted you to know.

own integrity:

Okay, don't allow yourself to be somebody else's sounding board.

own integrity:

Don't allow yourself to assume the position of taking on

own integrity:

someone else's stuff. Ask what do they need, and then say what

own integrity:

I said to this person. You're not in a program with me right

own integrity:

now. I'm here, so happy to be your girlfriend, but what you're

own integrity:

asking me about is a business decision. And if you'd like to

own integrity:

talk about re-enrolling in a program where I can help you

own integrity:

with this, I'm really happy to do that with you. I don't go to

own integrity:

her and ask for medical advice for free. I don't expect her to

own integrity:

come here and ask for my business advice based on 35

own integrity:

years of experience and not make the investment in getting the

own integrity:

solution she wants. When somebody's leading with being a

own integrity:

victim, they fall into our mission statement in our

own integrity:

absolute no's. We absolutely refuse at Limitless Women to

own integrity:

partner with women who are addicted to drama and committed

own integrity:

to being victims, because what we know is that being a business

own integrity:

owner can be really tough at times, and you're going to have

own integrity:

some bad days.

own integrity:

But unless you're personally responsible for your results and

own integrity:

your outcomes, and you want to point a finger and blame

own integrity:

everybody else every time something goes wrong, we can't

own integrity:

help you help yourself. Know who your no is. So the three things,

own integrity:

just to recap for you, to know whether it's time to evaluate

own integrity:

your pricing, are are you really clear about the transformation

own integrity:

that happens when a client comes through your program or

own integrity:

experiences your service? Have you had at least three people

own integrity:

come through that can really be loud and proud and excited about

own integrity:

sharing the results that have happened for them, so that you

own integrity:

can be validated and know that this is really great work. And

own integrity:

the third thing, know your no. If your no is to work with

own integrity:

people that are not going to get results, please don't put

own integrity:

yourself in that situation. Please say no to those people

own integrity:

and create space and welcome in the people you really can help.

own integrity:

My name is Laura Gisborne. I'm the founder of Limitless Women.

own integrity:

If I can support you, it's my pleasure to do so. You may reach

own integrity:

me personally at schedulemycall.today. This will

own integrity:

put you into a little questionnaire. It just says who

own integrity:

are you? How can I help? It will link you directly to my personal

own integrity:

calendar. Please be patient with me. I travel frequently. I would

own integrity:

love to talk to you personally, but if you find that there's not

own integrity:

a spot available right away, grab the next one that fits for

own integrity:

you, and then you have a second opportunity, which is to go to

own integrity:

LegacyLeadersSurvey.com. This is where you can find a business

own integrity:

assessment that we use with every client we work with-I kid

own integrity:

you not-whether they're coming in as an emerging leader and

own integrity:

wanting to accelerate their business, or they're looking at

own integrity:

how to grow their legacy in the world, I invite every woman I

own integrity:

meet who comes into partnership with me to take this business assessment.

own integrity:

It is the best way I know to shine light on where you might

own integrity:

be stuck, what could be in the way in the systems of your

own integrity:

business that need your attention, and how we can help

own integrity:

you get to the results that you want to have with your impact

own integrity:

and your growth? If I can help you, reach out. It's my pleasure

own integrity:

to be with you, and I thank you for your time.
