Highlights from today's episode include:
Cheryl says "You are the magic pill" – lasting healing comes from your own lifestyle changes, not from a single medication.
Cheryl explains systematic toxin removal – over five years she methodically reduced toxins (food, products, environment) and listened to her body's signals to regain health.
Manon talks about medicine as 'disease management' – you sharply highlight how conventional care often manages symptoms instead of truly caring for patients or seeking root causes.

00:00:00
Manon Bolliger: Welcome to the Healers Cafe, the #1 show for
00:00:04
medical practitioners and holistic healers to have heart
00:00:08
to heart conversations about their day to day lives while
00:00:13
sharing their expertise for improving your health and
00:00:17
wellness.
00:00:20
So, welcome to the Healers Cafe, and today I have Cheryl Meyer,
00:00:26
and she's otherwise known as Cheryl M Health Muse, and once
00:00:32
upon a time she was a successful solopreneur in the jewelry
00:00:37
design business and making seven figure business, and one day she
00:00:44
woke up with excruciating pain. So, if this wasn't a common
00:00:54
story, you, you would think that you know this happens, and this
00:01:02
is so rare. And, of course, you found a solution. You went to
00:01:06
the doctor, you took some pills, and they worked right.
00:01:09
Cheryl Meyer: I went to the doctor. She ran five rounds of
00:01:13
testing. Guess what? There's nothing wrong with you. That's
00:01:17
blood of Christ. I can't function. I can't move. I hurt?
00:01:21
Manon Bolliger: Yeah. Okay. And then it's in your head. We
00:01:25
haven't met yet, but I.. this is basically.. I'm.. I'm looking at
00:01:29
the other stories I've heard. It's all in your head. Are you
00:01:32
suffering from depression? Are you sure you don't want to take
00:01:35
sort of antidepressants? Right.
00:01:39
Cheryl Meyer: Yep.
00:01:39
Manon Bolliger: Part of the story. Okay, yeah. And then she
00:01:43
Cheryl Meyer: did say, "I'll give you steroids because you
00:01:46
say you hurt. I'll give you steroids for that. I'm not
00:01:50
taking steroids if I don't need them. I'm not never taking
00:01:53
steroids. Period. No.
00:01:55
Manon Bolliger: And that's because you had inflammation,
00:01:57
and that's the magic drug for inflammation in our, you know,
00:02:01
very developed allopathic model of let's say it's not patient
00:02:08
care, even I think it's patient stagnation, it's it's disease
00:02:13
management, actually, that is
00:02:15
Cheryl Meyer: what it is,
00:02:16
Manon Bolliger: which is really a good name for it, because all
00:02:18
they do is manage the disease, and you know, inadvertently by
00:02:24
some, because I think there are some innocent people in that
00:02:27
field, but everyone who's woken up feels like a charlatan, or
00:02:33
like they're peddling drugs, or like something has changed, and
00:02:38
I have quite a few MD friends, and they're getting very tired
00:02:44
of their role, and it didn't used to be that way. I think
00:02:48
there was a little bit more. I'm not saying that, you know, it
00:02:51
wasn't always the intent of it, but it's, you know, from the
00:02:57
Rockefeller Foundation, and everything, and
00:02:59
Cheryl Meyer: there's reasons, you know their number one source
00:03:01
of information is their pharmaceutical rep,
00:03:04
Manon Bolliger: correct? Yeah, yeah. And you know, you put two
00:03:07
and two together and you go, gee, what does this have to do
00:03:09
with healing and health, right? Okay, so let's start with what
00:03:15
happened to you, because obviously something changed, and
00:03:18
what were you. why don't you go through the whole story, and
00:03:23
from the point of view that somebody could follow, going,
00:03:26
'Gee, that's a good thing. I maybe I should do that next, or,
00:03:31
you know, how did you go? How did you deal with this?
00:03:34
Cheryl Meyer: Okay, well, let me tell you, first, my body was
00:03:37
talking to me long before I paid attention. I have a joke that my
00:03:42
when the universe wants somebody to get something first, it slaps
00:03:45
me on the shoulder, then I get the NCIS slap, and then finally
00:03:49
the two by four came comes down. So I waited for the two by four
00:03:53
to come down. I was so focused on keeping my business going, I
00:03:57
was sort of like, shush, I don't want to hear you, and I want
00:04:01
everyone to learn to listen to their body, because their body
00:04:04
is very smart. So that's my first tip to everybody. But I
00:04:09
woke up one morning and everything hurt. Do I have the
00:04:12
flu? What the heck's going on here? And after five days it
00:04:16
hadn't gotten better, so I went to the doctor, started getting
00:04:19
tests run, five rounds of tests, nothing wrong with me, baloney.
00:04:24
I knew something was wrong, but I said to her, I'm going to dig
00:04:28
into this and I'm going to find out what's wrong with me. So
00:04:31
you'll be back. I said, no, I probably won't. And I was really
00:04:35
lucky because I tripped into what's now known as the
00:04:39
functional medical community, and this was 14 years ago at the
00:04:44
time. They were all fairly new as functional doctors, and they
00:04:48
were running all kinds of symposiums, and I watched 19 of
00:04:52
them with multiple doctors, and I made notes. I started writing
00:04:56
down what their threads were, and the first thing that caught.
00:05:00
My attention was they all either got sick themselves and couldn't
00:05:03
help themselves or they had a loved one get sick that they
00:05:08
couldn't help, so they ended up going for the additional
00:05:11
functional medical training, which means they looked at the
00:05:15
whole body and not just at a body part that was causing
00:05:19
trouble, and so that's where I started, and I was lucky, but I
00:05:24
wrote down notes like toxic load. What was toxic load about
00:05:30
the fact that I should be eating organic, real food, which
00:05:34
resonated with me. That was logical. So I started looking
00:05:38
into what does that mean, and how could I do that? And as I
00:05:42
learned things, I started to implement. I started researching
00:05:46
all the toxins in my life, and I was appalled because they were
00:05:51
everywhere. They were in my food, they were in the way my
00:05:54
food was grown, they were in the processed food, everything that
00:05:58
went in or on or near my body was toxic, and things like the
00:06:03
cosmetic industry functions by monitoring itself, and they're
00:06:08
not doing a good job at it. The first thing I looked up on a
00:06:12
website called ewg.org was my face makeup, and it was an
00:06:17
expensive French brand that was a nine out of 10 on toxicity, so
00:06:23
literally I had been poisoning myself right through my skin,
00:06:27
and I got angry. Why was my government allowing me to be
00:06:32
poisoned? And I mentioned that because I can't tell you how
00:06:35
many people along the course of my journey said my government
00:06:38
wouldn't allow me to get poisoned. It is every day, and
00:06:43
so I decided I found a man named Howard Lyman who wants us all to
00:06:48
be an army of one and own it ourselves and search for what we
00:06:53
need, and I decided I was going to be an army of one, so I dug
00:06:57
it. I found a woman named Dr. Deanna Minnich who believes in
00:07:01
eating the rainbow of all the different colors of organic
00:07:04
food, because each color has different gifts for the body. So
00:07:08
I started going to farmers markets, buying my food as close
00:07:12
to the farm as I could, because things like spinach lose 30% of
00:07:16
their potency within three days. I wanted to get stuff into my
00:07:20
body, on my body, and around my environment that would stop
00:07:25
poisoning me, so that I could. I was determined I was going to
00:07:30
get well, and I never doubted that I would find what I needed
00:07:36
to reverse what was going on with my body. So that's
00:07:40
important too, because as I work with clients now, I have learned
00:07:43
that if they don't believe it's possible, then it's not going to
00:07:47
happen. I'm working with someone with MS right now whose doctor
00:07:51
keeps telling him his disease is going to progress.
00:07:55
Manon Bolliger: Yeah, and I
00:07:55
Cheryl Meyer: said, "Okay, your tour this week is to have a
00:07:58
conversation with him to stop saying that, because as long as
00:08:02
he says it and you believe it, guess what, that's exactly
00:08:06
what's going to happen. You have to believe that you are the
00:08:10
captain of your ship, you are the creator, and you can change
00:08:15
the direction of your health if you start to change your
00:08:19
environment. One of the people I started following was Dr. Bruce
00:08:22
Lipton, who discovered and formed the theory of epigenetics
00:08:27
that our genetics have nothing to do with what we get, it has
00:08:31
to do with our body and what the environment is like that
00:08:36
genetics is sitting in. So, if you're constantly putting in
00:08:39
toxins, which are poison. Guess what, you're going to get sick
00:08:43
if you're constantly eating the ultra-processed diet, which is
00:08:47
fake food. You're not giving your body anything to run on, so
00:08:50
guess what, you're going to get sick. So you have to change your
00:08:55
environment and start doing things that give your body the
00:09:01
opportunity to return back to balance that really became the
00:09:05
key. It didn't happen overnight. It took me five years to
00:09:10
eliminate every toxin I could find in my air, in my perfume,
00:09:15
in the cleaning materials that I had, in my food, in my pots and
00:09:21
pans, and the things that I was cooking with, and what I was
00:09:24
storing my food in, in the water coming out of my tap. It took me
00:09:28
five years to get rid of all of that poison, and so I'll tell
00:09:33
you, it's not easy. You have to have an intention. You have to
00:09:37
stay focused. I did it systematically, category by
00:09:42
category, but in five years I started to feel pretty darn good
00:09:47
again, and I went on Medicare and found my own functional
00:09:50
doctor, and even that wasn't easy. There is a site called
00:09:54
ifm.org where you can put in your zip code and they pop up,
00:09:57
but none of them at the time took any kind of insurance.
00:10:00
Parents, and so I ended up driving two hours to the person
00:10:07
who I thought could help me, and it was worth it, because she
00:10:10
took me to the next level. She knew things that I hadn't found,
00:10:14
like that I had all kinds of food sensitivities, and it ended
00:10:18
up I had 19 of them, and by eliminating those, wow, it was
00:10:23
instant pain relief, and I stopped having flares every
00:10:27
other day. So it's like finding your jigsaw puzzles, but you
00:10:32
stay so focused and so convinced that you're going to find all
00:10:37
your puzzle pieces, you just keep going until you start
00:10:41
feeling great, and that's the goal. I had felt lousy for
00:10:46
years, and thought that was the way I was supposed to feel,
00:10:48
because by the time I got sick, I was already 63 Well, today I'm
00:10:53
77 and I feel way better than I did in my 40s and my 50s. So,
00:10:59
it's not age, it has to do with how I live my life and what I've
00:11:04
done with my environment to create a life that's clean that
00:11:08
supports me and it is so worth
00:11:12
Manon Bolliger: it right now. How did you get that like deep
00:11:17
knowing that you're going to find a solution and you just
00:11:20
need to keep going.
00:11:21
Commercial Break: What would your life be like if you were
00:11:23
pain-free? If you were one of the millions who suffer from
00:11:27
chronic pain, the thought of just one day without it may seem
00:11:32
impossible. This is often because conventional medicine
00:11:35
tends to fall short in the treatment of pain, opting to
00:11:39
prescribe pills or recommend surgery rather than getting to
00:11:42
the root cause of the problem, but if you are suffering with
00:11:45
emotional or physical pain, there is hope. Join the founder

00:12:31
Cheryl Meyer: Well, in a lot of ways I was lucky because I grew
00:12:34
up with two parents whose favorite thing to say to me was
00:12:37
I could do anything I set my mind to.
00:12:40
Manon Bolliger: Okay, okay. Both
00:12:41
Cheryl Meyer: of my parents got unusual diseases. My father got
00:12:45
a very rare epilepsy, and he was a scientist, so he was
00:12:49
constantly researching because he wanted to help himself with
00:12:52
that. And then my mother got something called multiple system
00:12:55
atrophy, which is related to Parkinson's, but not
00:12:59
Parkinson's, so nobody in the heck out there in the doctor
00:13:02
field had a clue what to do with her and so I started digging
00:13:06
into medical journals and finding things myself, so when I
00:13:10
would go to medical appointments with them, I would raise
00:13:12
questions, have you thought of this, could we try that, and the
00:13:16
response in the beginning from their doctors was, Who's the
00:13:19
doctor here, and my response was, Who's the daughter? My
00:13:24
mother's doctor, I said, How many patients do you have? He
00:13:27
said, several 100. I said, Well, I only have one mother, so could
00:13:31
we do this together, because I can concentrate on things that
00:13:35
might help her that you're not going to find, because you have
00:13:38
200 of her, and she was supposed to only live two years and she
00:13:44
lived 10 and when she died he called me and said I wish
00:13:47
everybody had a daughter like you he said because our success
00:13:51
was because we did do it together yeah so I knew that if
00:13:56
I dug into whatever was going on with my body which was not even
00:14:00
given a diagnosis that I was going to find it, and I was
00:14:06
determined that I was going to find it. Ended up, I had
00:14:09
fibromyalgia, Hashimotos, IBS, I had type two diabetes that my
00:14:17
doctor had missed, and it was bad. My A 1c was 7.7 I mean it
00:14:22
was high, and so, and then as I started working with my
00:14:29
functional doctor, I also discovered by accident that I
00:14:32
had a fatty liver,
00:14:33
Manon Bolliger: right? So,
00:14:35
Cheryl Meyer: and that wasn't a surprise, since I had the
00:14:36
diabetes, and I had eaten poorly for 63 years of my life, so that
00:14:43
became a concentration to learn everything I could learn about
00:14:46
the liver, which is the workhorse of the body. So, if
00:14:49
your liver isn't healthy, it impacts everything else going on
00:14:53
in your body, and it actually ends up, it's the number one
00:14:55
cause of heart disease. So, you need to follow the threads. That
00:15:00
you discover as you research, and you need to take it
00:15:03
seriously, that each of these little gems is going to get you
00:15:07
one step closer to feeling great, and that's what I did. I
00:15:12
am now 14 years away from starting this journey. I still
00:15:17
have some puzzle pieces I'm looking for. Somebody who
00:15:21
follows me on Facebook said, are you really as healthy as you say
00:15:24
you are? I feel great every day, I pop out of bed happy as heck,
00:15:29
because the food I eat turns on all my happiness, right? Yeah, I
00:15:34
am as healthy as I tell you I am, but that doesn't, as it is,
00:15:40
and you never stop looking for your pieces,
00:15:43
Manon Bolliger: right? Right now, so how in your search,
00:15:50
right? So I understand the background, where you knew that
00:15:54
researching was something that could be done, right? So that's
00:15:59
a lot of people just think that somehow doctors know everything,
00:16:03
and they don't research, and you know part of it is true, they,
00:16:08
they don't research, because a lot of times now, you know, it's
00:16:12
like they're overwhelmed by crazy, silly hours where you
00:16:16
don't get to know your patient or client at all, and and then
00:16:21
they have these, you know, reps that tell them, well, this will
00:16:25
fix that and that, and so it's like, it's like, okay, you know
00:16:28
what, I'll just use the cookbook rather than use my brain and go
00:16:33
deeper, and so I think a lot of the art of really asking
00:16:40
questions and getting to the root of things has been lost,
00:16:45
you know. Not
00:16:46
Cheryl Meyer: everyone. I actually read that from when
00:16:48
something new gets discovered. It's discovered in whatever it's
00:16:54
minute field is in, and it can take as long as 15 years before
00:16:59
it will get into the general medical journal that your doctor
00:17:02
might read it right, so your thing is you want to find it
00:17:06
early. If there's something new that you want to pull the thread
00:17:10
on and question, and I've had formed partnerships with every
00:17:14
doctor I've had, and I will go to anybody who can help me. I
00:17:18
have a naturopath, I have a functional doctor. I have a
00:17:22
regular doctor, and they all know I'm in charge of my health.
00:17:27
You are my partner, you are my advisor, and we're going to take
00:17:31
care of my health together. And I currently have a
00:17:34
conventionally trained doctor who lives holistically, so he
00:17:38
gets it, and his theory is you do the least invasive first, and
00:17:44
then if you have to, then you can go to taking that serious
00:17:47
medication, or doing that surgery, or whatever it is, but
00:17:51
we always start with the least invasive, and you need to find
00:17:55
those doctors that you believe will support your body in
00:17:59
finding holistic solutions, and it doesn't mean I don't take
00:18:03
drugs, because the drug can mitigate whatever is going on in
00:18:07
my body until I can change my lifestyle enough to start to
00:18:10
cure it, and the doctor knows if I'm going to take a drug, I'm
00:18:14
going to research it, I'm going to know what the downside is,
00:18:16
because they all come with gifts, both good and bad, and so
00:18:21
if I start to get better, then he's going to help me wean off
00:18:25
of that medication, because I'm not taking it forever. And one
00:18:30
of the first things I had to learn is there is no magic pill.
00:18:35
You are the magic pill. People my age think they're going to
00:18:38
find the magic pill, and they're going to feel better and be able
00:18:41
to live out life. It doesn't exist. You are the magic pill,
00:18:44
and your lifestyle changes are the magic that your body can
00:18:49
convert to wellness. So, you have to own it. You have to
00:18:53
question, you have to research, and there's probably some bad
00:18:56
information out there, as well as good information. So, I found
00:19:00
doctors that I trusted, and that's where I would start as I
00:19:04
researched each subject, but you can do it, and then you go to
00:19:10
whoever your care taker is, and you have a robust conversation
00:19:15
with them, so that you're sure you stay on track for getting
00:19:18
the best possible solution for your body, not in your body. He
00:19:23
doesn't know how you feel.
00:19:25
Manon Bolliger: No, no, exactly. So, so the research part I get,
00:19:31
the the drive that you're going to get on top of this, and that,
00:19:37
well, no, that's not that one. Sorry, because I think that you
00:19:40
were an entrepreneur before, so right. I know where drive comes
00:19:43
from, and
00:19:45
Cheryl Meyer: I'm an A personality, which my stress
00:19:49
level was so out of control. I shot up and used up all my
00:19:54
cortisol and was borderline Addison's disease when I got
00:19:58
sick. That was one of. First places I had to dig in and get
00:20:02
under control.
00:20:03
Manon Bolliger: Okay, so actually that's interesting.
00:20:06
Let's go there for one moment. How did you choose to get that
00:20:12
under control out of all the technologies out there and
00:20:15
things? What did you do?
00:20:17
Cheryl Meyer: Well, I decided I was going to take a yoga class,
00:20:21
Manon Bolliger: okay,
00:20:22
Cheryl Meyer: but I don't like yoga where they're going to tie
00:20:24
me into a knot,
00:20:26
Manon Bolliger: okay.
00:20:26
Cheryl Meyer: So I looked until I found a local class, which was
00:20:29
by a company called Body and Brain, and they're all over the
00:20:32
country, and they do a towel yoga that's a combination of
00:20:38
some yoga, some isometric, some general wellness, mind over
00:20:45
body. It was a combination of everything, and I have to add to
00:20:51
it. While I was looking for this yoga class, I had also been in a
00:20:54
long-term relationship with a man who wasn't going to change
00:20:57
for me. He was not going to let me dictate how he was going to
00:21:00
eat, he was not going to adopt any healthy habits, and so after
00:21:05
many years we had to break, which was just all additional
00:21:08
stress, which didn't help the situation. So I found my yoga
00:21:14
class, and then I dug in what were other solutions, and I
00:21:18
found a man who started integrative medicine, called Dr.
00:21:21
Andrew Weil, and he had come up at that point, which was 15
00:21:26
years ago. Now, there are all kinds of breathing exercises,
00:21:29
but I do his breathing exercise, which takes four minutes to go
00:21:36
through the rounds, and it releases all the tension in your
00:21:41
nervous system, and lets you take the top off your stress, so
00:21:46
you can function again.

Commercial Break: What would your life be like if you were
00:22:16
pain free? If you were one of the millions who suffer from
00:22:20
chronic pain. The thought of just one day without it may seem
00:22:25
impossible. This is often because conventional medicine
00:22:28
tends to fall short in the treatment of pain, opting to
00:22:32
prescribe pills or recommend surgery rather than getting to
00:22:35
the root cause of the problem. But if you are suffering with
00:22:38
emotional or physical pain, there is hope. Join the founder
00:22:44
and CEO of Bowen College, Manon Bolliger, live online for your
00:22:49
body mind reboot. Learn how to listen to your symptoms and get
00:22:54
to the root cause of your pain. Plus, be trained in basic Bowen
00:22:58
therapy moves, so that you can reboot your body for optimal
00:23:03
health. You don't have to live in pain. You can heal. Stop the
00:23:08
pain pill cycle by visiting www dot your bodymind reboot.com to
00:23:15
learn more and to register you that's
00:23:24
Manon Bolliger: for sure. Yeah, so you know, it's kind of funny.
00:23:27
It's like, just not, they're just doing a job without
00:23:32
consciousness many times, you know. And that's how we got into
00:23:36
the latest, you know, fiasco of crazy cancers and everything
00:23:42
from these so-called, you know, mRNA shots, and I mean it's just
00:23:48
crazy, and you know people still believe this idea that the
00:23:53
governments are all good for us and authority is good, and you
00:23:59
know, we really have to question everything. We have to question
00:24:02
our education, we have to question our health, everything
00:24:06
about it. And you have to take
00:24:08
Cheryl Meyer: the time to look into it. We just got neurotic
00:24:11
glyphosate because, and Bayer has paid out $80 million to
00:24:17
people who got the lymphoma, that glyphosate, which is
00:24:21
Roundup, which is sprayed everywhere. It's sprayed on your
00:24:24
food, it's sprayed in your schoolyard, it's sprayed on your
00:24:26
public places. Your dog is walking in it. We had just
00:24:30
gotten everyone to start to wean themselves off of that for
00:24:34
weeds, and we're talking about weeds. Would you want to get
00:24:37
sick and some kind of cancer, or would you want to get rid of
00:24:40
wheats, so we finally did that, and now Bayer has gotten the
00:24:43
government to reverse all that, and they're going to start
00:24:46
spraying it on everything,
00:24:47
Manon Bolliger: food now. Yeah,
00:24:48
Cheryl Meyer: yeah. Well, it's better than our food. No, I
00:24:51
know, but
00:24:52
Manon Bolliger: yeah, I mean,
00:24:54
Cheryl Meyer: we get wrenched in it because it makes it give them
00:24:58
a bigger yield, yeah. And so anytime you eat anything with
00:25:02
conventional wheat, you are poisoning yourself with
00:25:06
Manon Bolliger: no, yeah, no, it's yeah, it's it's really a
00:25:10
big problem if people don't look at all of those things, you
00:25:13
know, it's, you know, I'm not your
00:25:18
Cheryl Meyer: host, that of the greatest magnitude either, but
00:25:20
when you hear me say something, look into it, see if I'm right,
00:25:24
see if that would help you,
00:25:26
Manon Bolliger: right? No, for sure. Okay. Well, you know what,
00:25:29
our time's like up.
00:25:32
Cheryl Meyer: Sorry about that.
00:25:33
Manon Bolliger: But why don't you give us where people can
00:25:36
find out more about you and your resources? That would be
00:25:40
wonderful. And
00:25:41
Cheryl Meyer: I have two books on Amazon, all the steps I took
00:25:44
step by step to get rid of all the toxins. That's 117 awards,
00:25:49
because no one has a layman had explained it step by step
00:25:52
before, and it's got a huge bibliography in the back of all
00:25:56
the people I follow that I go to for information. So the book was
00:26:00
like gold. Then my functional doctor asked me to write the
00:26:02
second one. Was okay, you don't live in an isolated life, so how
00:26:08
do you live in society and follow all these rules now that
00:26:12
you don't want to deviate from? So I wrote Living Low Toxin, and
00:26:16
that's also up on Amazon, and it's Wannade Awards. So those
00:26:21
two books, and those are things like, How do I vet a restaurant?
00:26:24
How do I go to somebody else's house for dinner without driving
00:26:27
them nuts that they have to cook away from me? All those things
00:26:30
are in the second book. So then I have started doing tons of
00:26:34
free resources, and they're all up on issue as flip books. I did
00:26:40
an A to Z magazine, which will tell you things like what were
00:26:45
my signs that I was getting sick that I ignored. What are all the
00:26:50
what are all my healthy habits that I want you to adopt,
00:26:53
because some of them may not seem logical. Getting seven
00:26:56
hours of sleep is one of them, because that six to seventh hour
00:26:59
is when all the plaque gets swept out of your brain, so it's
00:27:03
important. So I have all of that in there. My functional doctor
00:27:06
wrote an article, my nature of path wrote an article, my toxin
00:27:10
expert wrote an article who's created a plant enzyme cleaning
00:27:15
material, and she has low toxin resources on her website
00:27:22
community is number one for health, so a woman who started
00:27:27
chemo buddies, which is not to tell you what to do if you get
00:27:31
cancer, but to give you love in a community, because no one
00:27:34
should go through it alone, wrote an article, a woman who
00:27:38
had two botched back surgeries, who ended up at the same towel
00:27:46
group, has a big thing here in Sedona. They have a 500 acre
00:27:51
retreat. She ended up there and finally got her life back. So
00:27:56
she and they did a documentary that ended up on PBS, called so
00:28:02
they wrote an article, so the articles are great. You will
00:28:05
learn a ton, and they will give you places. What do I do when I
00:28:09
go to a convention and I want to take my own food? All of that is
00:28:12
in my magazine. Then I wrote a book, because people were
00:28:15
confused on what to eat, and my rule is, if there's a word on
00:28:19
that label that you don't know or don't can't pronounce, you
00:28:22
just put it back on the shelf, you don't put it in your body,
00:28:25
but I decided I needed to break it down, so I wrote, How did we
00:28:29
get into this mess? What exactly is ultra-processed food, because
00:28:33
it will make you throw up, and then what should you be eating,
00:28:37
and I don't care if you're vegan, vegetarian, paleo, pagan,
00:28:42
pescetarian. I don't care. I give you the rules because it
00:28:44
starts with I want 70% of it to be organic plant food, and I
00:28:49
explain why organic, and I explain how important the vagal
00:28:54
nerve is, and how important fiber is, because you don't get
00:28:58
any fiber in ultra-processed food, and you need it, because
00:29:02
that's how your information system works,
00:29:05
Manon Bolliger: right?
00:29:07
Cheryl Meyer: Everything gets piggyback on that fiber and goes
00:29:09
over to your vagal nerve, which delivers it everywhere. So, that
00:29:13
book is there, my stress book. I have a three minute guide to
00:29:17
stress exercises to keep on your desk, because it's that
00:29:21
important, and if you keep it on your desk, maybe you'll remember
00:29:24
to pick it up and pick one of the exercises and do them, so
00:29:29
that's there. Then I started really feeling like my big
00:29:33
problem that I got sick from was because I was not practicing
00:29:36
self care or self love, so I wrote a book called Radical Self
00:29:41
Care, because it's not just taking a bubble bath at night,
00:29:45
everything in your life that will help you be the best that
00:29:50
you can be,
00:29:51
Manon Bolliger: right.
00:29:51
Cheryl Meyer: And I have adopted things like heart mass, which
00:29:54
helps me get out of my brain, which talks trash to me, and go
00:29:59
into my heart. Which is your second brain and has as many
00:30:02
neurons as your brain does
00:30:05
Manon Bolliger: send people to your site, but it will allow you
00:30:09
to
00:30:09
Cheryl Meyer: communicate with the universe in a language that
00:30:11
can hear you, and I love it. It's the most relaxing thing I
00:30:15
could possibly do. So that's in there, the importance of Sion
00:30:18
and milk thistle, and all the things I did to take care of my
00:30:22
healthy liver, it's all there, and they're all in flip books.
00:30:26
An issue you can get to that by going to Cheryl M Health News,
00:30:29
which I have at the bottom.com and on the front page it will
00:30:34
lead you to all my books, but any book that you go to will
00:30:37
lead you to all of them.
00:30:39
Manon Bolliger: Great. Well, thank you so much for your time,
00:30:43
but also all this work that you've put out. It really makes
00:30:47
it a lot easier when people.. it
00:30:49
Cheryl Meyer: became my mission and my passion. Yeah, I figured
00:30:51
out that I needed to sell the business and change the
00:30:55
direction of my life, and it has been remarkably fulfilling, but
00:31:01
you have to believe it, and you have to implement as you learn,
00:31:06
or nothing will change.
00:31:09
Manon Bolliger: Thank you, Cheryl.
00:31:11
Cheryl Meyer: Thank you for having me. I obviously get
00:31:12
excited, and I love to talk about this stuff. So, thank you.
00:31:16
I appreciate the opportunity, Doctor, your audience.
