How to Trust Your Inner Voice When Fear Gets Loud

I’ve learned that the quiet voice within us rarely arrives with certainty or perfect timing. It comes softly. Through curiosity, a feeling you cannot fully explain, or a knowing that keeps returning no matter how many times you dismiss it. If you’ve been questioning yourself lately, wondering whether you can trust what you feel, I want you to know you are not lost. You are becoming more aware of what is truly aligned for you.

Together, we explore the difference between fear and inner knowing, the tension many women feel in midlife when life no longer fits the roles they’ve carried, and the gentle practice of listening inward without rushing or doubting yourself. I hope this conversation gives you permission to slow down, stay present with what’s emerging, and reconnect with the wisdom that has been quietly speaking within you all along.

What This Conversation Reveals:

  • Fear often sounds urgent and convincing, while inner knowing feels quiet, grounded, and steady.
  • You do not need the full path to begin trusting yourself and taking aligned steps forward.
  • Midlife can awaken a deeper desire for truth, alignment, and a life that feels more authentic.
  • Constantly seeking outside validation can disconnect you from your own inner wisdom.
  • Learning to pause, listen, and notice what keeps returning is part of coming home to yourself.

Meet the Host: Sylvia Morrison

I’m Sylvia Morrison: transformational coach, retired educator, bestselling author, international speaker, and humanitarian. My career spans over three decades of work in personal transformation, leadership development, trauma-informed practice, and global service.

I’m the founder of Links Across Borders, a nonprofit that builds libraries and provides educational resources to children in rural Ghana. I’ve supported hundreds of transformational, service learning journeys rooted in connection and care.

I'm a Jamaican born African and Canadian woman, shaped by many cultures and communities. I am a mother, grandmother, and a guide who has spent decades walking alongside women through transitions, questions, and quiet awakenings. At the heart of my work is a simple knowing: we are not here to fix ourselves, but to remember who we are—and to live from that place with honesty, presence, and care.
