Welcome to Destin for Success. I'm your
Jennifer Takagi:host Jennifer Takagi, and I want to follow up a little bit on
Jennifer Takagi:last week's episode with Lisbeth. And the question
becomes:Are you ready to receive what you asked for. Are
becomes:you ready to receive what you asked for? Long ago and far
becomes:away, I wanted a job. I wanted a very specific job. I applied for
becomes:the job, and I knew in the depths of my soul that I was
becomes:going to be selected for this position. I was moving
becomes:organizations, and it was going to be great. And I just knew it
becomes:was mine. You can imagine my devastation when I found out I
becomes:didn't get the job. I didn't get the job. I was very distraught.
becomes:I was very sad about It and several weeks later, I had
becomes:surgery. I had bunion surgery on my right foot, and as I'm
becomes:healing from my bunion surgery, I receive a call and they say,
becomes:"You have now been selected for the job, and at the time I was
becomes:so taken aback. I was so shocked. I said, "Can I call you
becomes:right back?" And the woman said, "Yes, but we need an answer."
becomes:And I said, "You'll get an answer. The answer is yes, but I
becomes:just need to absorb this for a minute. Let me call you right
becomes:back. And I hung up and I turned to the. I had two gals that we
becomes:shared a little office space with, and I was like, "Oh my
becomes:gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! You're not ever going to believe
becomes:this. I got the job. She just called and offered me the job,
becomes:and they were like, " Oh my God! Really? So I I caught my breath
becomes:and I called the woman back and I said yes, I will accept the
becomes:job. I have to give two weeks notice. I I can start on this
becomes:date, and she said okay, great. So they started the paperwork.
becomes:So I called my mom and I was like, "Oh my gosh, I got the
becomes:job!" So my mom, in all her infinite wisdom, said, "It's a
becomes:good thing you didn't get it when you first were turned down,
becomes:because now you've gotten your first foot operated on, and you
becomes:can have the second one operated on, and be healed up. What? So
becomes:as it turns out, I went back to work, or I got started my new
becomes:job. I was there for a few days, and I had my follow-up surgery,
becomes:and just took off half a day when I had surgery, and then I
becomes:went home one day because I was like, "Man, this is too much. I
becomes:need to I need to stay off this foot for a day." But had I
becomes:gotten the job the first go around, I wouldn't have had that
becomes:surgery. And let me just tell you, if you don't know anybody
becomes:who has bunions, they're extremely painful, or they can
becomes:be. What I found out was, on that bone by your big toe on the
becomes:side of your foot, if the nerve is on the outside of that bone,
becomes:every shoe hurts because it's pressing on the nerve. Some
becomes:people have bunions and their feet look really funky, but they
becomes:don't don't hurt at all. And it's because the nerve is on the
becomes:inside, not the outside. So you know, medical jargon that you
becomes:really didn't care about. But I thought I wanted that job, and I
becomes:was devastated that I didn't get the job. But I got it later. I
becomes:got it when I was in a better position to say yes. I was in a
becomes:better position to say yes. So sometimes we don't get things in
becomes:the timing because we weren't really ready for it, and we
becomes:really have to put on our big girl panties, our big boy
becomes:shorts, whatever you wear, before we can see that. So I
becomes:just prompt you to look back on a time when you didn't get what
becomes:you wanted, what you asked for, what you planned for, what you
becomes:trained for, and can you see a really valid reason that it
becomes:wasn't the right time for you right then? Because everything
becomes:shows up in perfect timing. Some. Times you don't get what
becomes:you think you want because they don't look like what you thought
becomes:they should look like. So are the opportunities showing up for
becomes:you?
becomes:But since they didn't look quite right, you're saying no, And
becomes:other times, are you paying attention to the things you even
becomes:ask for? I can remember sitting at my desk one time, and I had a
becomes:beautiful view of a beautiful church in downtown Oklahoma
becomes:City, and I was like, between phone calls, between meetings
becomes:had a chance to catch my breath, and I'm looking out the window,
becomes:and I thought, I'm kind of bored with what I'm doing. Like I've
becomes:been doing this for a hot minute, I'm kind of bored. I kid
becomes:you not. The next day, I got a phone call, and I was told that
becomes:I had to go to Washington D.C. and spend the summer in D.C. on
becomes:a special project. And I was like, "Holy crap! Holy, that
becomes:didn't show up. That opportunity to do something different did
becomes:not show up like I thought it was going to. That was not the
becomes:summer that I thought I was gonna have, and it was quite the
becomes:summer. Let me tell you, it's not what I thought it was gonna
becomes:look like, but it turned out to be great, and it was a great
becomes:opportunity, and it laid the foundation for a whole lot of
becomes:other things. But I can tell you right now with complete
becomes:certainty, it didn't look like I thought it was going to look
becomes:like. Not at all. Another thing that didn't look like what I
becomes:thought it was going to look like, I was invited to attend a
becomes:summit to support one of the people that was going to speak
becomes:on it, and unbeknownst to me, she had an entire list, an email
becomes:list. I thought she invited me personally. She did not, and I
becomes:attended this three-day summit because I didn't have anything
becomes:better to do. It was the summer of 2020, August of 2020, and I
becomes:have no idea what to expect. So when you talk about
becomes:opportunities and expectations, I had none. I didn't know what
becomes:to expect. I didn't know what was about to happen. So on this
becomes:summit, there is a speaker, and she talks about Akashic records,
becomes:and I had heard about Akashic records, and she offered 10
becomes:slots, 15 minute sessions. I was like, "Holy moly! I'm all in.
becomes:I'm getting that. I'm doing that." So I probably typed
becomes:Jennifer faster than I ever typed Jennifer in my life, and I
becomes:booked my call. And that one call changed the trajectory of
becomes:my life. I learned to read Akashic records, which led to
becomes:Holy Fire Reiki, which led to emotion code, body code, belief
becomes:code, and energetic magic. I would have never done any of
becomes:that. If I hadn't said yes to registering for a summit to
becomes:support a speaker, we need to pay attention when offers are
becomes:made, when gestures are made. They don't always look like
becomes:they're going to turn into anything, but sometimes they do.
becomes:When opportunities show up, say yes. Say yes to every possible
becomes:opportunity that comes your way. Now, I don't want you to make
becomes:$100,000 investment in a coaching package if it's not for
becomes:you. I'm not saying yes just to say yes. But before you
becomes:automatically say no, I want you to sit back and think about the
becomes:possibilities. Is this a possible good fit for you? If I
becomes:take that opportunity, what could it look like? I often
becomes:coach people on taking advantage of the next steps so that they
becomes:can meet their goals, so they can create the life they want to
becomes:create, and one thing that often comes up is social media posts,
becomes:and they're like, "Oh, well, I need to do a post," but and then
becomes:they overthink it, and then they don't do it, and they don't do
becomes:it, and they don't do it, and I'm like, "Oh my goodness, set a
becomes:timer for 12 minutes.". Think of something you said in the past.
becomes:Make it a quote. Put it on whatever your brand colors, if
becomes:you have any. If you don't, do it black and white. Do a solid
becomes:background with the letters on it. Put your name at the bottom.
becomes:Put it out there. Post something. Get your name out
becomes:there. Get your brand out there. Your brand comes as you build, I
becomes:want you to think right now. What is one thing that you want
becomes:to do? You need to do.
becomes:You could do, and then spend 12 minutes doing it. Just do the
becomes:thing. Write the post, write the article, go into AI. They have
becomes:all your information and say, write an article that sounds
becomes:just like me. Just do it quickly, easily. Just do the
becomes:thing. Do the thing. Are you ready for what you ask for? You
becomes:have to be willing to recognize it when it shows up. You have to
becomes:be willing to receive it and act on them when they show up. How
becomes:many opportunities have you missed because you weren't
becomes:paying attention? You put it out in the universe that you want
becomes:something, you jolly well be paying attention when the
becomes:universe starts to deliver. You know why? Because if you pass it
becomes:up, the universe is going to deliver it to somebody else, and
becomes:then you're going to say, "Oh wait, that was my idea." Well,
becomes:it was your idea, and you pass it up. Pay attention. Pay
becomes:attention to your surroundings, pay attention to the
becomes:opportunities, pay attention to the thoughts that you have, and
becomes:pay attention to the people you're hanging out with. If you
becomes:want a little assistance with this, book a call with me,
becomes:yoursuccesscall.com, and I would be happy and thrilled to help
becomes:you break down your next goal into 12-minute increments. I'm
becomes:Jennifer Takagi, and I look forward to connecting with you
becomes:soon.
