Today is episode 400 of Destin for
Jennifer Takagi:Success. I'm your host, Jennifer Takagi, your 12 minute success
Jennifer Takagi:coach. And today's story, today's topic is on the 12
Jennifer Takagi:minutes to success and what that really means, and how powerful
Jennifer Takagi:that can be in your life. I came up with the 12 minute
Jennifer Takagi:methodology when I was preparing to do a workshop based on the
Jennifer Takagi:book, The Success Principles, and the Train the trainer
Jennifer Takagi:certification that I received, and the first principle in the
Jennifer Takagi:Success Principles is take 100% responsibility for every aspect
Jennifer Takagi:of your life, and if 100% is too much, take 5% more, and I became
Jennifer Takagi:obsessed. What is 5% 5% of what? In the end, I broke my day into
Jennifer Takagi:four hour increments: eight to noon, one to five, six to 10,
Jennifer Takagi:and in those four hour increments, I could, I could
Jennifer Takagi:manage my day, manage my life, and every four hours, 5% of four
Jennifer Takagi:hours is 12 minutes. Yes, I used a calculator. Have you heard the
Jennifer Takagi:story before? I used a calculator, and the biggest
Jennifer Takagi:thing I want you to take away from that experiment that has
Jennifer Takagi:made major changes in people's lives is that success doesn't
Jennifer Takagi:require massive time blocks. Most people delay their dreams
Jennifer Takagi:because they think they need hours of uninterrupted time to
Jennifer Takagi:get it done, but consistent 12 minute focused actions create
Jennifer Takagi:momentum faster than waiting for the perfect time. Small
Jennifer Takagi:incremental action compounds into massive results, and if you
Jennifer Takagi:focus on one thing for 12 minutes a day over a year, 365
Jennifer Takagi:days, 73 hours. what could you create if you spent 73 hours on
Jennifer Takagi:it? Well, number one, you probably won't, like you're not
Jennifer Takagi:even gonna get started. Let's be honest, let's be clear, you're
Jennifer Takagi:not even gonna do it, but if you break it into 12 minute
Jennifer Takagi:increments, you can actually start getting things done.
Jennifer Takagi:Clarity creates acceleration when you break your goals into
Jennifer Takagi:12 minute increments. Overwhelm decreases, confidence increases.
Jennifer Takagi:So, instead of asking, How do I finish this huge goal, ask What
Jennifer Takagi:can I move forward in the next 12 minutes. I recently did a
Jennifer Takagi:workshop on attracting clients and what you can do, and one
Jennifer Takagi:thing is social media. Get a social media post out there, get
Jennifer Takagi:your name out there, your services out there, create a
Jennifer Takagi:post. Most people don't do it, because they set aside 45
Jennifer Takagi:minutes to an hour to create that one post, and then they sit
Jennifer Takagi:there, and they dilly, and they dally, and they don't do
Jennifer Takagi:anything. If you say you're gonna do something, you're
Jennifer Takagi:telling your brain, you're going to do it, and when you don't do
Jennifer Takagi:it, and you don't do it consistently enough, pretty soon
Jennifer Takagi:your brain says that is a woman or that is a man who doesn't do
Jennifer Takagi:what they say they're going to do, so your subconscious mind
Jennifer Takagi:doesn't try to build you up and help you and spur you on and
Jennifer Takagi:give you new ideas, because it knows you've already decided
Jennifer Takagi:you're not the person who does what you say you're going to do.
Jennifer Takagi:Break it down, make it small. You want to send an email,
Jennifer Takagi:perfect. Go into AI, type in there, I want to send an email
Jennifer Takagi:to my audience around XYZ, give me a draft. I'm a huge fan of
Jennifer Takagi:AI. I put my stuff in there all the time, and I'm like, "Hey,
Jennifer Takagi:help me out with this. It spurs on new ideas. It's like having a
Jennifer Takagi:whole team at your back helping you out. What do you want to do?
Jennifer Takagi:What do you want to create? Break it down into little
Jennifer Takagi:pieces, so that you can actually start achieving your goals and
Jennifer Takagi:getting things done. Now, when the 12 minutes are up, if you've
Jennifer Takagi:got a little more time, great, add more time. I try. Really,
Jennifer Takagi:have a friend who said I got this exercise bike, and I really
Jennifer Takagi:want to ride it, but I need to find my bicycle shorts, and I
Jennifer Takagi:went. See, that's a first step in 12 minutes. Get your
Jennifer Takagi:equipment together. Do you need your favorite bicycle shorts to
Jennifer Takagi:ride that exercise bicycle? Do you need your favorite tennis
Jennifer Takagi:shoes, socks, like, what do you need? What on earth do you need,
Jennifer Takagi:so you can start exercising? You need your outfit, you need your
Jennifer Takagi:outfit. In the end, she gave the bike away. She was talking to a
Jennifer Takagi:friend and said, "I've got this exercise bike, I've had it in
Jennifer Takagi:here a year, and I haven't ridden it once, and her friend
Jennifer Takagi:said I'm dying to have one. I'll get in my car and head right
Jennifer Takagi:over and pick it up, and she did. But the one who had the
Jennifer Takagi:bike, she didn't ride it, because she couldn't find her
Jennifer Takagi:bike shorts. If you're going to start a new plan, you've got to
Jennifer Takagi:have the materials that you think you'll need to be able to
Jennifer Takagi:do it now. I personally laughed out loud at her, because it
Jennifer Takagi:doesn't matter what I have on. If I need to slip on my Skechers
Jennifer Takagi:slip-ons, because I ride my exercise bike with shoes on,
Jennifer Takagi:then I do. Other than that, I can wear whatever I want,
Jennifer Takagi:because how long do I ride my bike? You guessed it, 12
Jennifer Takagi:minutes. And it was a big deal to get to 12 minutes, ladies and
Jennifer Takagi:gentlemen. Why? Because I've had both knees replaced in the last
Jennifer Takagi:two years, and it took a little while. It took a little while.
Jennifer Takagi:What can you do in the next 12 minutes? Can you walk for 12
Jennifer Takagi:minutes? Can you ride a bike for 12 minutes? 12 minutes is too
Jennifer Takagi:busy due to six minutes, or four, three minutes, whatever it
Jennifer Takagi:takes to build it up, to build up your stamina. How long do you
Jennifer Takagi:want to spend creating a social media post? Great, break it down
Jennifer Takagi:into little increments. The next point I want to make about this
Jennifer Takagi:is, energy matters as much as strategy. You can have the best
Jennifer Takagi:plan in the world, but if fear, doubt, procrastination, or
Jennifer Takagi:emotional blocks are read in the show, you'll stay stuck. The 12
Jennifer Takagi:minutes to success approach combines focused action with
Jennifer Takagi:aligned energy, so people move forward faster and with more
Jennifer Takagi:confidence. If you sit down and can't, won't, or don't do the
Jennifer Takagi:thing. Ask yourself why. What is holding me back from doing this?
Jennifer Takagi:I believe it was Marianne Williamson, and I had her poem
Jennifer Takagi:tacked up in my office, but I can't lay my eyeballs on it
Jennifer Takagi:right this second. But I believe it was Marianne Williamson who
Jennifer Takagi:said we're not scared of failure as much as we're scared of how
Jennifer Takagi:successful we can truly be. I butchered that horribly, so look
Jennifer Takagi:it up, Marianne Williamson and her quote on success, and what
Jennifer Takagi:she's getting at, is it is scary to think how successful we can
Jennifer Takagi:be. It's scary to think of how, how many people we can impact.
Jennifer Takagi:That's what we get scared about, and that's what holds us back,
Jennifer Takagi:and those are the little stories in our heads that keep us back.
Jennifer Takagi:Our next, my next podcast is going to be about identity,
Jennifer Takagi:because how we see ourselves, the identity we hold, what is
Jennifer Takagi:the first step to getting what you want, creating the identity
Jennifer Takagi:that you want, so I talk a lot. You may or may not have seen me
Jennifer Takagi:on the summit talking about my win methodology. Wire your brain
Jennifer Takagi:for success. Imagine the future and break your goals into next
Jennifer Takagi:steps. Win methodology, that's also identity, imagination, and
Jennifer Takagi:increments. However, you want to break it down, it starts with
Jennifer Takagi:your mind first, in your mind's eye. Did you hear me talk about
Jennifer Takagi:The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and Amanda Francis talks
Jennifer Takagi:about manifesting what you want, and the other women on the show
Jennifer Takagi:just laughed and thought that was the most ridiculous thing
Jennifer Takagi:they ever heard of, and they just wanted a plan, but you
Jennifer Takagi:can't create a plan unless you know what you want, and then
Jennifer Takagi:when you start to go after what you want, that fear sets in.
Jennifer Takagi:Those old stories step in. Somebody says you're gonna have
Jennifer Takagi:to take the stage, and you remember when you're a little
Jennifer Takagi:kid and you tripped, walk into the front of the room to give
Jennifer Takagi:your report, and you're like, "Oh, I can't, I can't speak in
Jennifer Takagi:front of people like that. That happened, you. Need to clear
Jennifer Takagi:those things out. I obviously can help you with that. I'm your
Jennifer Takagi:12 minute success coach, and I'm an energy healer, so I can help
Jennifer Takagi:identify and clear that quickly. You can learn to do it yourself.
Jennifer Takagi:It's always more powerful for me if somebody else does it for me,
Jennifer Takagi:but that energy has to align with the clarity on who you want
Jennifer Takagi:to be and how you want to show up, so becoming the 12 minute
Jennifer Takagi:success coach, it was, it was one of the many things in my
Jennifer Takagi:life that just happened by happenstance and circumstance,
Jennifer Takagi:and being in the right place at the right time, because I had
Jennifer Takagi:written the book Reach Your Goals in 12 Minute Increments,
Jennifer Takagi:and somebody helped me refine it to 12 minutes to success. Reach
Jennifer Takagi:your goals in 12 minute increments. I literally wrote
Jennifer Takagi:the book on it, and then I started becoming the 12 minute
Jennifer Takagi:success coach, and I was like, 'Holy crap, bully! I didn't even
Jennifer Takagi:know. I didn't know it evolved, it grew, and now I'm achieving
Jennifer Takagi:my dreams and my goals in small increments. I've had clients
Jennifer Takagi:come to me and say, I heard you on a summit one time talking
Jennifer Takagi:about 12 minute increments, and it changed my life. So, you can
Jennifer Takagi:start changing your life 12 minutes at a time. I'm Jennifer
Jennifer Takagi:Takagi, your 12 minute success coach. I look forward to
Jennifer Takagi:connecting with you soon. Click the link, book a call. Let's see
Jennifer Takagi:how I can help you start reaching your goals in 12 minute
Jennifer Takagi:increments.
